For those folks who applied to Harvard, notifications of admission are coming out today and in the preceding days, as D just found out she was admitted this afternoon.
Which program at Havard?
-
Got an offer from Sanger - anybody who went to the interview weekend knows how many total applicants and how many people were invited for interview?
-
I guess BMI didn’t like me ? when is interview weekend? Seems to be in conflict with JHU

I also haven't yet.
Nothing, this is weird since knight-Hennessy comes out tmr, and usually the grad school interview decision precedes that

@VirtualCell I looked at your list of schools and commend your confidence

Has anyone heard back from any of: Stanford DBMI, MIT CSBi, MIT EECS, Princeton QCB, JHU CS, or CMU Comp Bio? I’m hoping at least Stanford or Princeton starts sending interview e-mails.
Thanks!
I applied to Stanford BMI, MIT CSB, JHU CS as well. Not heard back yet.

I have a BS in biomedical engineering, been in genomics research for three years and I've co-authored 5 publications. US citizen.
I think the main thing with UW was that I had a connection through a postdoc I met at a Hackathon a few years ago, she got me in touch with a bunch of PIs there. I have a very smart friend with similar background and research experience who applied to UW and didn't get an interview, I don't really understand why I would and she wouldn't since she's been in a *very* good lab for the last three years (but she did get an interview at Hopkins already)
That's pretty crazy. Sounds like they rejected 5000 (not real, exaggeration..) people this year. Did you do mostly computational or wetlab research? I'm CS+Bio double major but never done any serious wetlab.
Jay Shendure and Cole Trapnell are probably my biggest reasons for applying to UW. -

I know that the chemical biology folks have heard back about interviews but doesn't seem like computational biology has, I'm still waiting too. I'm guessing we won't hear back until after Christmas at this point.
UPenn GCB [12/10]
UW Genome Sciences [12/18]
Tri-I CBM
UMD CS
Ok good to hear! TRI-I is one of my favorites and I currently work here. And congrats on getting UW what's your background out of curiosity?

Just out of curiosity looked up UW, seems almost nobody got in??

@kataegis Same situation, international at a US school and I got a Skype interview! Congrats!
congrats! I wonder if it be would worth it to ask for an in-person interview since they might not have realized we are in the US now.

Hello guys, late to the game but decided to spend some time here and hopefully be more informed/inform others
Everyone here seems to be very qualified so I hope we all get into the programs we want!
My list of schools -
- University of Washington GS [reject on Dec 18, ops]
- EMBL-EBI [really liked them, invited to in-person interview]
- Havard BIG
- Stanford BMI
