  1. Wow, that does seem really early. But congrats! I think NPSIA typically starts to send out offers in mid-to-late February for domestic students, and it can go well into March.
  2. My situation is a little weird. I went to a different university from 2005-2007 and dropped out with abysmal grades, so I had to devote a big chunk of real estate in my statement to explaining what's changed between then and now. Really hoping they don't give too much weight to the GPA from my previous attempt at a degree 15 years ago (roughly a D+... yikes), and really just focus on my past few years at Carleton.
  3. Right there with you. I'm worried my statement of intent is the weak link in my application. Grades and references I'm not worried about, but I wasn't 100% sure on whether I was going the right way with the statement. Good luck!
  4. Oh for sure. It's an order of magnitude more expensive than most Canadian programs (to the point that an extra ~$8k/year gets you into LSE), and the mandatory internship (which tacks on $5k-$7k) doesn't make sense for me, considering I already work in government. Carleton's tuition and funding package make it a much more attractive prospect, and remaining in Ottawa means I'd be able to drop down to part-time and keep my job while going to school. In other news, my NPSIA application is in, my referees have submitted their letters, all that's left is the wait.
  5. My downstairs neighbour went to Munk and works at GAC now, FWIW. I'm already fairly settled in Ottawa (government job, my partner works at a law firm, etc) so Munk was never really on my radar, but the cost definitely put me right off (you can go to Cambridge for that kind of cash).
  6. Hey folks! Fellow NPSIA applicant here, just wrapping up my application this weekend (and still waiting on transcripts from one of my old schools with baited breath).
