Well, I just found this after having applied for eight schools on my own, not knowing there is was great support system that existed. I'm still scrolling through endless pages that give me a lot of peace through this process. I'll let you all know what schools I applied to and what I've heard back from.
Iowa: Rejection, but such a sweet letter.
UC San Diego: No reply
University of Montana: No reply
Hollins University: Waitlisted
Oregon State: Rejected
Emerson College in Boston: No reply
Western Washington: Waitlisted
Eastern Washington: Accepted
So I guess Eastern Washington is waiting for me to send an official transcript after I've received my degree, which won't happen until May. Does anyone know what I can anticipate in terms of financial packages in the meantime? Also, any news on the two schools I was wait listed for? Again, I'm still scrolling to cover my ground, but if any of you know anything let me know!
I should also add that I am a creative nonfiction applicant in almost all of these instances. I'm having a hard time remembering off the top of my head which programs are multi-genre, but if they are separated I most commonly applied for nonfiction and marketed myself as such.

Hey guys, new to this site. Really great to find a community of anxious applicants to commiserate with.
I'm a poet, and I received word that I was waitlisted for NYU on Tuesday. I've been rejected from Iowa, The Michener Center (number one choice, I've worked with Dean Young all year as an undergrad and it's been incredible ?), Oregon, and I still haven't heard anything back from Boston.
I've been lurking on this thread, but it's really long; does anybody have any insight on the NYU waitlist? When do you think we'll hear back? And I've seen some people mention Boston has started sending acceptance letters -- anybody been rejected yet?
Thanks, and godspeed, everyone.

Wow what a day! Dorthothea Lasky just phoned me I screamed in the middle of an Art Gallery with my class and prof's around!
Dorothea is one of my poetry hero's ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
The sun shines despite corona virus
Then I had to rush back to studio art campus and get all my painting supplies (paint major) as my school is closing to keep everyone safe.
Was about to accept Brooklyn, still most likely will due to costs of Columbia even with Scholarships, but I pray the funds will come!

Had the most amazing phone call today and I am fully funded with a $25k gift at UMKC!! Definitely the top choice right now, but still wondering about UC Irvine and Riverside. I am a very happy girl after the partial scholarships from other programs. April 15th is coming up so quickly and I still need to hear from 6 schools and it looks like visits will be near impossible, STRESS.

Accepted Iowa’s offer. Good day for someone on Michigan and Brown’s waitlist.

Hi! I got a call from Columbia saying I got in, but I am really nervous because I haven't gotten mail. I'm worried it was some weird mistake. How did you find out? Congratulations!

Just got my rejection from Hollins. Doesn't sting too bad, since I've been expecting it. I'll be praying that funding comes through from GMU. If not, no dice again this year! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello. First time on here. I received an email this afternoon (2:40 in CA), which I found in my spam, from University of New Orleans. Accepted for CNF. This was my first choice and first time applying, so I am going. I don't know funding info as of this point.
Congrats to all who have been accepted! Very exciting!

Also was admitted! Congrats! Do you understand the funding breakdown? I’m a little confused where to find the letter.

There's a chance you're on a silent waitlist, although I know at least a couple of those programs notify for waitlists. I wouldn't consider this cycle a lost cause just yet, but it's a good idea to consider your back-up plan.

Admitted to UNLV (University of Nevada Las Vegas) for fiction last night (or 6 hours ago, so maybe today, depending on your time zone). Very kind email from the program director. There is a high likelihood I will accept the offer, pending full stipend/cost of living information. Very happy, of course.
I am mostly a lurker here and on draft, but because I used this tool to better learn where I stand with a program I have yet to hear from, but that others have received acceptances from (thus assuming rejection...but whatever, I would have preferred other programs including UNLV...) It was particularly important for me to give back and update you all, since I haven't seen another UNLV fiction admission posted.
Best of luck today if you are still waiting to hear from UNLV fiction--the email was personalised, so it is likely not all admissions have gone out. And if you are considering going/ have a special insight about this program/Las Vegas (I have never been!) let's chat.

Not to add another variable to this but Michigan was always my top school. Not just because of the location+faculty, but also the guaranteed third year fellowship. It's really amazing to have a whole year of funding to just work on your MS without classes or anything.

Only one school left to hear from, and best case scenario there would be a waitlist. At this point I'm waitlisted at Hopkins and U of Arkansas for fiction, rejected elsewhere. I can't help but have this hopeful feeling about Arkansas. Davis McCombs said it's a short list, and I've seen one poster say they got into fiction but they're leaning another way, and another who says they're on the waitlist but they have another offer they know they're gonna take. Looks like at least another month of waiting for me this season. Groundhog says, fuck you! Six more weeks of winter!

Got into a few schools, got rejected from some (Or, I am assuming rejection because it seems fiction admits were definitely notified for University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Ole Miss). Congrats to all admitted anywhere, crossed-fingers to all those waitlisted, hugs to all rejected, and feeling the pain of all those in silence limbo. Still waiting to hear from UNLV--Did anyone get in/get waitlisted for fiction there?
Also, right now assuming I don't get in anywhere else, my first choice of the schools that admitted me is University of South Florida. It is critical for me to be in a place of warm weather, and I love the program, especially the faculty and how it is set up and that they help you learn how to teach.
My main concern:
It is a fully funded program, but the teaching stipend is very low, and Tampa isn't cheap. I think with the school fees one has something along the lines of 12-12.5 grand a year. I worry about how much money going to the program and teaching is going to end up costing me, as that is not enough to live on/relocate. If anyone here is familiar with Tampa, USF, or can help advise me on how to figure this one out I'd really appreciate it.

I've heard back from everywhere. Got into Iowa, Michigan and Brown. Rejected from Johns Hopkins and UVA. Was sure going to Iowa was going to be an easy decision. I was wrong.

Just woke up to an email I received at 3:28 am my time and IM IN AT UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO!!! Kind of a strange email haha but I’m so glad to have a California option. No word on funding yet, so crossing my fingers and toes for that. Another program that I don’t know too much about, but I’m going to go study up. Have a great day all, and hang in there!
