Hi! Did anyone else just now get a fellowship from UM SEAS? I just got an email notification saying I got one, even though they had told me I didn't receive any aid at the time of acceptance.
I guess they might be preparing for a smaller cohort considering the current circumstances and are realizing there's extra money to give. This makes my decision a bit harder, but I'm happy regardless!

Is anyone else feeling extra stress about choosing a program because of COVID-19? All of my accepted students weekends have been cancelled, and I was counting on them to help me choose. Also, with many universities cancelling in-person classes for the remainder of the semester, I'm anxious about making a big financial commitment when that could be a possibility again in the fall.

Welp, I bought my ticket to Durham already. This sucks, I was really looking forward to it  @kcovt I 100% feel more stressed. I applied to all my programs because I thought I would be a good fit. However, without visiting and meeting the rest of the cohort, I really don't know where I stand now.

Just got an email from Dean Stanback confirming that the Nicholas School's Admitted Students Weekend is cancelled. Oh well.
Of perhaps more interest to some: the email also mentioned that financial aid awards will be sent the week of March 20th. Hooray, more waiting!

I'm honestly not sure... I know that a lot of Michigan's aid comes in the form of graduate assistantships (where they fully waive tuition for the semester and also give you a stipend and health insurance), but I've heard they are pretty competitive and generally awarded to second year grad students. But you should definitely give the school a call! They've always been really helpful whenever I've called with a question. Good luck with your decision process!

This is the week!! Wishing for a suspended animation chamber right about now. @monkeycat @chaparralcountry Good luck to you all, try not to chew your fingernails too close to the quick!
EDIT: @rushrabbit029 I got in touch with the admissions department back in November and requested a tour, they offered the informal interview (really more like a chat) with Professor Johnson. They were super helpful & encouraging, it really improved my already high opinion of the program.
