  1. I applied in mid-Feb and heard back a month later. According to the result page, they are doing rolling admission and usually take 4-6 weeks to notify the applicants. No interview required though.
  2. @su1234 After a quick Linkedin search, looks like their alumni/current students are doing pretty well. I did not see any FAANG companies though but can see IBM, McKinsey, and a few other big names. You should definitely reach out to them to learn more. I have also heard good words about them. Even though the program is relatively new (first class 2018) but they offer lots of flexibility from their curriculum. Overall good ranking (#12 statistics, #23 engineering). Are you considering Duke with other offers?
  3. @zerotoone I submitted on the last day of Round 1 in December lol. And yea they already interviewed everyone in Round 2. Results should come out tomorrow or Monday next week as the latest.
  4. @doingthingshere Congratulations! How did you satisfy the pre-req (i.e. linear algebra, math and stats courses) and the academic letters? I struggled on that end when I applied since I am out of school for a while now.
  5. @throwaway12345 Congratulations! Did you interview with NYU at all? Also may I ask which PhD program you are pursuing and why switched to an MS now?
  6. @Do_EE This came straight from their website: How Can I Strengthen My Application? If you are unsure about the quality of your application and want to strengthen it, consider taking (and excelling in) a mathematics or computer science course, especially in linear algebra or programming in Python. Looks like those two courses are strongly recommended on top of a bunch of other volunteer experiences and coding projects. Honestly though, there are so many things that can go wrong in the admission process. That's why we're applying to 6-10 different programs.
  7. @S_Ashleigh I had a MSiA interview 2 weeks ago and am also waiting for the results that come out in mid-March. Out of the 4 programs you are applying to, I think NYU would be strongest. GA is also very comparable to MSiA. If you don't mind the fact that it is an online program, it's a very great deal ($10K vs $55K for MSiA). Maybe hold on to the offer till the last few days then decide?
  8. @swcb Congratulations! That was amazing. Did you have a video interview with Northwestern MS in Analytics and they told you were accepted?
  9. @Do_EE UT Austin has a BA program that is very well regarded. UCSD also has a DS program that fits toward people like us who have work experience. Northwestern has MS in Analytics which is very solid but unfortunately the deadline was Jan 15.
  10. @apartment3367 I found this on Reddit: Hope this helps. And congratulations!
  11. @bayessays I know NYU and Columbia DS programs accept MOOCs but they give priority for students who have formal credits in linear algebra, calculus and statistics. But this is a very good point considered that he applied to Stanford and Chicago stats. @Do_EE You might want to look into some analytics/business analytics programs. They have a more lenient requirements in prerequiste classes. Otherwise I would try to take at least 1-2 advanced statistics classes prior to applying to any statistics programs. With that being said, I think you still have a good chance with Columbia and NYU.
  12. Just finished my interview for the MS in Analytics at Northwestern. Looks like the results will come out by March 16.
  13. @Haoyun - I honestly don't know. You can try digging into last year's thread to find out. Reddit and Quora could give you an answer as well.
  14. @Scholarship I have an interview call with them next week. Based on the Calendly invite, the last slot for interview is March 6. I assume that's when the interview round finishes. We should hear back by early April I think. Did you interview with them?
  15. I got an interview invitation for next week. Some dude I know from Reddit who is currently attending the MSiA program said that the interview is mostly to assess your soft skills. If anyone can share their experience and confirm, that would be great!
