  1. I'm also in a similar position. I have 2 Canadian acceptances, one with a deadline next week and the other with one a few days after....But I'm still waiting on a US school!
  2. Hello all. I have gotten most of my offers (still waiting on one) and am curious if anyone has/or is currently attending any of these schools. I'd love to chat if possible! Simon Fraser University - 13k (TAship). funding. After paying tuition, this leaves me with about 7k. University of British Columbia, 18k (TAship). plus international tuition award. After covering tuition, this leaves me with 12k of funding. Washington State University - tuition remission plus 13k (TAship). I'm still waiting on one and would need their answer before deciding...I'm getting major anxiety from not realizing until now that Canadian schools want a reply much sooner than US schools (both SFU and UBC want one in about a week and half!). I may ask for an extension, especially since the remaining US school usually announces results later in March.
  3. Thank you!! I'm lucky enough to have a friend who held that same fellowship (it's my undergrad university) so I've been chatting with her and making sure to read up on the journal itself/read past issues of it.
  4. Hi all! I just heard from Simon Fraser (History) with an acceptance and great package. They said the deadline to let them know of my plans to accept/decline is March 20th...This is so much earlier than other schools and very soon. Is this somewhat typical with Canada? I've applied to US schools as well and all have April (and one school likely won't let me know till later in March...)
  5. Hi all! I just got into Simon Fraser and the acceptance letter said to let them know by March 20th. Is this somewhat typical of Canadian schools? The US schools all subscribe to the April 15 decision deadline, and one of them may not even let me know THEIR decision until late March/early April...
  6. Hi all! So I just got asked to interview for a fellowship (an editorial fellowship) at one of the schools I applied to. Does anyone have any tips for fellowship interviews? I've done a fair amount of job interviews, so I'm relying on those skills (though it's been awhile since I last applied to a job). Thanks!
  7. I'm not exactly sure, but I know with my undergrad thesis it's been downloaded by various institutes - from UW Madison to Boston College to the Hilton Hotels (??). My guess is that an individual working there was researching, searched something that led to your thesis and then downloaded it to check it out.
  8. Has anyone heard from Canadian schools, specifically UBC or Simon Fraser?
  9. Just wanted to say I also got that in my rejection email from University of Washington, which I really appreciated.
