  1. Congrats! When did you hear from UIC? It seems early for them compared to previous years. I haven't heard anything from them yet. Anyone else still waiting on UNC?
  2. Thanks @2020epi! My GRE was 96% verbal 98% writing but 60s in quant. I should have kept studying and tried again but I felt it was "good enough." My GPA was solid for grad but not 4.0. I did try to reach out to potential professors for partnerships but was met with the suggestion of talking AFTER I was selected. I think there is a solid chance that my chosen professor didn't feel I was a match or doesn't have bandwidth and since I had a very specific interest they rejected me. But who knows. Hopefully I'll get feedback. In the forums last year a few of Hopkins folks said they were rejected on their first attempt and accepted on their second.
  3. Did anyone apply to UTHealth DrPH? The program allows you to choose a campus and for some programs you can choose Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc for the same program. The Management/Policy program is just in Houston but the other one is all over. Does anyone know the difference or if it matters which campus you attend?
  4. @ParttimeHopeful Where do you see the status of your UIC app? Thanks!
  5. @ConfusedDrPH https://[yourfirstnamelastname].goapp.ly/jhsph/checklist_for_application Replace the first part with your name.
  6. I was rejected. To say I'm bummed is an understatement. The Hopkins program is so specific to my interests that I was dying to get in and fairly confident of my odds. I foolishly had planned on it. I'm already at a very advanced position, had solid GREs, and I thought a strong essay. I applied for the leadership track. @jace_PH @PublicHealth2020 @PublicHealth2020grad @2020epi @LeMarie Do you mind sharing thoughts on your success? Were your quant GREs high? I had super high verbal but settled for quant in the 60s because they said 50 was good. Maybe I should have worked more on that, but who knows. I'm debating if I wait and take another run at Hopkins next year or go with another program. Congrats to all who got accepted!
  7. @HealthConsultant09 my guess is that means they are making decisions internally this week but notifications will probably arrive afterwards. I guess next week.
  8. @HealthConsultant09 are you basing that Hopkins timing on previous years or have they indicated decisions are coming soon? Like you I'm eager to hear, but thinking it will be next week. It's not preventing me from checking multiple times a day though.. I wish I could relax a bit and let it comes when it comes.. UNC had a 50% increase in applications this year, which of probably an indication that all DrPH programs had many more applicants.
  9. Hello! I'm new and just wanted to post and join the conversation. I applied to the Hopkins DrPH and Bloomberg Fellowship. Very eager to hear about this one as it is my top choice and is very specifically tailored to my work. I haven't heard anything on this yet. Like everyone the waiting is dominating my thoughts despite my attempts to meditate, remember I can't control it, etc. It's not working :). Glad I'm not alone at least. Also applied to the UNC DrPH and am a finalist. I had an interview and honestly don't feel it went very well. It was more like a standard job interview than I expected. The lag on Skype causes jokes and body language to get lost in communication. Hopefully they see it differently and felt it was good. It's a great program and I may choose UNC based on the executive model with a cohort. I like that Hopkins is self paced but I can see a lot of benefits in the lockstep cohort model. I also applied to UIC. No word from them. It would be great to hear back from Hopkins this week but I'm betting on next week like the past years. Does anyone know when UNC decisions come out? Good luck can to everyone!
