  1. Where have you decided to go?
  2. As a person who actually lives in NYC, I have to disagree with you. The NYC universities are not stringing anyone along, they are just not set on what is the executive action Governor Cuomo is planning to set. As you can believe we, in the U.S., particularly in these hard hit areas, are ALL in a climate of uncertainty. We do not know what to expect even in the next 2 weeks, so to lack compassion and be impatient while these cities are trying to ensure the safety of people who live here is inconsiderate. They are trying their best, not trying to rush reopening things. So just wait and stop thinking that there is a lack of transparency, we just don't know what is yet to come...Simple!
  3. So I applied for their part-time program since I will be working full-time. I received a merit scholarship of a total of $9,000 ($3,000 per year). I was told that they offer need based assistance as well. I advise you email the fin. aid office (financialaid@fordham.edu). I decided to decline Fordham's offer and accepted to NYU after my long debates.
  4. For all of those waiting on Columbia, I received my acceptance letter on Thursday, April 16th. I was already over the entire waiting it out and the only communication they've provided was about their FB live. Honestly, after the acceptance everything comes in pretty face, you get more communication and the fin aid package. Long story short, I decided to decline the offer. I was not pleased with the fin aid package (they offered no scholarships, just loans :/) and the overall lack of engagement with prospective students that are waiting. Plus, I've heard some very unfortunate stories from Columbia students about the lack of help with placement and preparing for licensing. I also declined Fordham, Temple, Adelphi and LIU offers. I've accepted to NYU because it was and still is the most engaging and I already feel like a part of the community. They sent me my acceptance decision within 5 days of submitting my application and I've been emailed personally by the fin aid and enrollment and admission offices about opportunities that fits me personally. Hope my declining of offer Columbia opens up a spot for someone who really wants to go there. Good luck to you all.
  5. @ubemochis @CluMSW Congrats to you two! I also received my acceptance to Fordham and may be attending the Lincoln Center. I've been debating between Fordham, CU and NYU and quite frankly, I'm not trying to drown in debt. Fordham offered the most reasonable package and is the most cost efficient compared to the other two. Maybe, we'll bump into each other in class.
  6. I have been closely monitoring this thread throughout my entire application process. My anxiety would not allow me to post (lol) but now that I have acceptances, I feel the courage to. I've applied to NYU, Columbia, Fordham and Temple (online). I'm from NYC, work full-time and will be attending part-time, hence why I haven't applied to any full-time programs like Hunter. So far, I've been accepted to NYU, Columbia and Fordham. Still trying to decide, but my heart is set on NYU. Is anyone else planning on attending NYU and/or will be a part-time student? Also, congrats to all those who have been accepted, hoping for all those who are waitlisted, as well as waiting for decisions and sharing hugs with those who have received rejection letters.
  7. I was hoping to learn more about other's experiences in Columbia and NYU. I have been accepted to both (+ Fordham) and am in the same dilemma with deciding which one to go to. @eec229 How was your undergrad experience at NYU? What were the strengths, challenges and rooms for improvement, if any?
