  1. I was waitlisted right out of undergrad but I doubt that had anything to do with not having yet completed my courses and graduated. Other people I know were accepted who were finishing the same time I was They'll assess based on your midterm grades. Best of luck!
  2. I say go for it! I started at U of T when I was 17 and I had no idea what I wanted to do. I dropped out multiple times, had two kids and worked a variety of jobs. When I was 30 and my kids were a bit older I went back, changed my major and completed my degree. I applied for my MSW for fall of 2020 with a 4.0 GPA but not that much actual experience in the field and was waitlisted. I've spent the last year gaining more experience in the field both volunteer and paid to hopefully tip the scales. I think as long as your grades are decent I would focus on acquiring as much experience in the field as possible (whether through volunteer or paid work). I noted in my application that volunteering is a privilege not afforded to everyone. If you can get in as a volunteer reseatch assistant somewhere that could also be beneficial....I've made some good contacts through various research opportunities. I also believe that there is some luck involved as far as getting in. Whether you acquire your MSW or not just know that there are a ton of different programs and avenues you can still pursue to work successfully in the field! Good luck ?
  3. I just checked and I was waitlisted on April 2nd last year. Just for anyone wondering if they send them all out in one day
  4. I was waitlisted last year too. I think in many ways being waitlisted is worse than rejection! Good luck
  5. Interesting that they are sending those out before they've done acceptances and waitlist
  6. You don't need one because you can already log into Acorn with your UTorID
  7. Former U of T student here and glad i'm not the only one haha luckily mine says "Financially Cancelled" (for last summer after I had already graduated) so I'm always looking for an orange "invited"
  8. Happy Birthday!!! Don't quote me on this but my understanding was that York doesn't let people know if they are on a wait list. That if you aren't immediately rejected you can assume you are on their wait list? It never made sense to me. I would have rather been rejected right away than to hear crickets until mid summer (although obviously I knew I had not gotten in, it would have been nice to have that confirmation given that I was on U of T's wait list).
  9. Last year York did not respond to me (2 year stream) until JUNE 15th. It was absurd
  10. Angela is pretty good at promptly responding to emails but I imagine we will hear back from U of T (2 year) at the end of March as we did last year
  11. Congratulations!!!!! You must be thrilled
  12. I didn't get in (I was waitlisted at U of T), but I would have to work as well. I have two kids and they need to eat haha I just finished my undergrad doing 5 or 6 courses for the past few years and I was working and volunteering so I think it's probably doable...especially if you don't value sleep
  13. Pretty ridiculous to not be at least professional enough to send rejections.
  14. Good luck to both of you! I'm wondering if I should email since it still says "under review" or just wait it out since they seem pretty busy? Crossing my fingers that I'm not too late to get into a May training!
  15. I also haven't heard back from them and they received my references over two weeks ago.
  16. Nothing yet. Taking that as a bad sign right now.
  17. I know a few people who have been accepted who are strongly considering defering since they are not in the area and are concerned about acquiring housing/jobs prior to the fall semester starting along with the concerns you have mentioned. I think it is a valid concern given the uncertainty of the current situation
  18. I asked a few pages back, and I've searched but haven't seen anything. Has anyone heard back from York U two year program? Thanks
  19. Has anyone heard from York 2 year MSW??
