  1. Yeah. I just e-mailed them after a few weeks asking for how I could improve my application for another application season.
  2. I applied 2 years ago and got alternate after foolishly applying to Russia and then Latvia as my alternate.. when I asked what I could have done to improve they said do not choose a country that they might no send students to as it is harder to gauge my motivation then for Latvia (if Russia is a for sure no) against other Latvia only applicants. This time around I applied and did just that. I chose a country that would hopefully have no controversies.
  3. I didn't get an e-mail yet but logged in and it says I got it.. hopefully an e-mail to follow shortly for Russian in Kazakhstan!
  4. Are you both fellowship applicants or scholarship applicants?
  5. I feel like they do it towards the end of the day to avoid people from calling them about their specific result.
  6. I took one for the team. They are coming out today by 5 PM EST the latest.
  7. I assume decisions will not be coming out today either?
  8. I had called earlier this morning (I assume before you all did) and was told it would not be today, but probably this week.
  9. Anyone plan to ask them tomorrow when we can expect to hear back? ?
  10. Anyone else finding it hard to distract themselves knowing that results might be coming out this week?
  11. I think it has no effect as the scholarships/fellowships awarded are commensurate with the amount of applications submitted to each respective country/language/region. However, I would not be surprised if they try to have regional diversity by allowing up to one applicant (if equally qualified) to be awarded in a lesser applied-to country.
  12. When do you all think they will get back to us? The 13th or 15th?
  13. You can remain matriculated without being enrolled in any courses at your university? How does one graduate without receiving their diploma? My understanding was Boren says you cannot graduate until after?
  14. I know Boren said they would work with each accepted applicant on an individual basis, but any chance of them waiving the matriculation requirement? I planned to go abroad for the summer and fall terms and come back in the spring for my final semester to graduate. Now, I'm thinking how to best go about the situation as my university has already suspended travel for both summer and fall terms.. ?
