2023 Canada Admissions SLP thread

Hi so there are 30 of us in the program this year! There is a waitlist, I am not sure how many people get put on the waitlist - but I'd assume that they give out as many as 30 waitlist spots. My two friends who were on the waitlist got off of it between May and June last year but it can vary. McGill doesn't release information on waitlists spots so I am not sure; it'd be best to call them directly. -

Hi guys! I'm currently a first year SLP student at McGill. Just wanted to reassure you guys that they don't go in alphabetical order when calling accepted applicants. My friend whose last name starts with a T found out hours before me last year (my last name starts with an M). So try not to stress, even though I know it's impossible not to! Good luck guys, hopefully the wait is almost over ❤️ -

Just got accepted to UofT, McMaster and Western. I will be accepting McGill, so that means a spot at each of those Ontario schools will open up for waitlisted students. Good luck everyone ❤️!! Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.- 1,373 replies

Got my call from McGill this afternoon that I have been accepted! Different people are calling accepted students so I don't believe they are going in alphabetical order. Good luck everyone- 1,373 replies

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is holding up ok. I know I have been sitting here waiting anxiously every day to get an answer. Does anyone happen to know when McGill is planning on sending out their acceptances? On their website, it says mid-march. But was wondering if anyone had more insight on a more specific date. Thank you!!- 1,373 replies

Hi everyone! Was wondering if anyone can help me. I got an interview to McMaster and have checked-in for both components of the interview. However, it says that I am have 50% complete for one check-in and 80% complete for the other. I thought that I have filled in all the requirements. Does anyone else have the same numbers as me? Is this normal that it doesn't say 100% complete for the check-in? Thank you in advance !- 1,373 replies

Hi Cloto SLP! I received an interview at McMaster with a 3.97 sGPA. I am currently completing the pre-requisite course for the human anatomy/physiology requirement so having a pre-requisite in progress should not affect whether one gets an interview or not; they know that some people are taking pre-requisites for their program both this semester and during the summer. If I were you, I would check your junk mail to make sure you didn't receive anything and if not then definitely call the school. Good luck- 1,373 replies

Hi everyone ! I was wondering if someone knew how to specify whether a referee was academic or professional on ORPAS (for the Ontario schools)? I don't see a space to specify which category we will use this referee for. Thank you in advance!- 1,373 replies
