  1. Yes, I applied to "Global, International, and Comparative Education"! I'm an international student so this seemed the most appropriate for me vis a vis the program - specifically, seeing how to design equitable educational experiences in developing countries. I can only guess that's how I'll marry the program with the concentration though. I wish they already had a clearer program/course outline at the time of application!
  2. I applied to LDIT!
  3. I saw that someone got accepted to the Education Policy program with $17.5K funding after submitting their app at the end/last week of December. It looks like decisions are rolling in earlier than March for some. Congrats to everyone
  4. Thanks for the reminder! I submitted the HGSE form pretty much on the day they emailed about it.... I was probably hoping that if I submitted as soon as possible, I would somehow hear something ~anything~ back as well. I hate this waiting game!!! Not long now though ??
  5. Hey, congratulations! When did you send in your application? Just wondering since they said results will be released mid-March... not sure whether to be on the lookout or not! As for the financial aid packages, I believe there’s some info in the Penn GSE 2020 (or previous) thread on this!
  6. I did not receive this... did you get any clarity on the email?
  7. I asked this in one of the virtual sessions and they said they would be sticking to roughly the same amount of students (~600 I believe)
  8. If they stick to what they've done in the past, they will release decisions in the afternoon of the first Friday in March (March 5)!
  9. Good luck, everyone!!! Now to keep busy and distracted...
  10. Me too! I got the email saying that they will no longer be doing rolling applications and will release all decisions in mid-March instead. I was hoping to hear back earlier but I guess that won't be the case.
  11. @Peacehappiness22Did you end up taking the GRE? I am about to take it this weekend. My practice scores have all been average relative to the averages of schools that publish their class profile info (for example, HGSE has this up on their website). I have an unimpressive GPA so I'm trying to figure out if an "average" GRE score will supplement my application or reinforce the GPA... any thoughts?
  12. @ILoveEdPolicy good to know, thanks you! I'm aiming to submit my application by the end of this month to a different program. Hopefully they revert with feedback in the same amount of time haha
  13. Also, I know that reaching out to professors you want to study under is encouraged in some schools. Does anyone know if this is encouraged at HGSE? And if so, what kind of questions are good to ask?? I feel like I've done so much research already that I'm not sure what to ask them specifically (but I'm sure there is more stuff to learn about!)
  14. Hi everyone, Adding in my stats here because these forums have been a great help in the application process. Will start paying it forward as early as now! Concentration/Program: M.Ed in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology (planning to take the concentration "Global, International, and Comparative Education") GRE: not yet taken although I'm planning to even if it's optional this year Work experience: Total of 8 years in marketing. Currently lead marketing at a non-profit. Have also been running my own company for the past 4 years in the edtech space. Undergrad: BA in Business from the UK (although I am from SEAsia and all my work experience above is in my home country, not the UK) Undergrad GPA: Upper second class degree, which translates to 3.22/4.0 Research: not sure if this counts but I did a lot of research over the years for the marketing strategies of different brands? LORs: 1 from current boss, 1 from former boss, 1 from the director of a school I work with in my startup Other schools: Penn GSE, TC Columbia, NYU Steinhardt Would love to get any feedback on the following: 1. I have been out of school for so long (finished undergrad in 2012) so none of my LORs are from a professor... I've been told this is okay but am wondering if there's still some sort of bias towards an academic reference? 2. I'm trying to overcome my low GPA by getting a good GRE score. What do you think I need to counter the GPA? Thanks and best of luck to everyone. I'm rooting for us all!!!
  15. @ILoveEdPolicyamazing, congratulations for getting accepted! How did you encourage those writing your LORs to submit them early? And how soon after full app submission did you hear back from the school?
