Hi, this is probably super late but I have applied to University of Hawaii for PhD as well and as you can see, have been going through previous years to see when Astronomy PhD decisions are released. When did they let you know eventually ? What was the average date when you started to hear from all the universities ?

Hi I am not very familiar with program but I can see that one of your questions is about application fees. Universities offer a lot of fee waivers and emailing the grad chair of the department you are interested in usually gets you the waiver or you can apply through FAFSA/financial hardship if you are a US citizen. I got fee waiver for 90% of the grad schools I applied for. Also, seems like you like the internship since you wrote a lot about it than actual grad schools. However, I am not very experienced in your field and so can't really help make the decision. Although, I don't think they will down on you for deferring/rejecting to pursue research in the field. Okay, this is similar to what I was thinking and had for my internship questions. Yes I am currently preparing set of questionnaire for possible interviews tailored to individual universities. Have you applied for any other schools ? I have attached a list of ones I have applied to below. I will be updating status of them as I hear back.

Hi, no worries. I am still going to wait it out. Could you tell me a bit about the interview and what they asked so I could prepare for potential future ones? I'm nervous as I don't really know what to expect (is it informal, or they expect me to remember some theorems..). Any tips are helpful. Hopefully you get into your dream school !

Hi, congratulations ! I had also applied to UHawaii but I have not recieved any information the interview. I guess that means they probably have not considered mine. When did they write to you for the interview? I only received email regarding the procedure of how the decisions are going to be made.
