I don’t know much about UChicago MS analytics but I would definitely go to NYU DS, its very cutting edge and you have people like Yann LeCun there. They also are rigorous as you said. I am skeptical of MS Analytics programs and the rigor on the math side of things. NYU DS has that aspect though. Plus its NYC, more opportunity in general.

Really the duration of the program! NYU's program is 2-years which fit my needs better. My undergrad wasn't in STEM and I wanted the opportunity to really immerse myself in the curriculum and feel like I earned the title of "data scientist". NYU's program from what I hear is based heavily on math theory, which is a big plus. Georgia tech is a great engineering school, but the program was only 1 year. Also, my girlfriend's best friends all live in NYC, which made the decision a bit easier too haha.

@two_dicey The added length, inclusive of a summer break to complete an internship, is nice. However, the curriculum is only one semester longer (3 vs. 4). I also prefer a more significant duration, but I'm not sure that's the deciding factor for me.
Accepted:
USC MSCS (Scientists & Engineers) - $10k scholarship UPenn MSE DS NYU MSDS GaTech MSA - TA offer (~$17k) Michigan MSDS I'm having a difficult time deciding between these. Did anyone else consider Penn or Michigan? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Michigan ranks highly in computer science, statistics, math, and engineering, but its MSDS program seems relatively less well known. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hopefully we hear back soon! It seems so odd to only have a few admission decisions out.

Has anybody received an acceptance from Georgia Tech (Analytics)? I've seen a waitlist and a couple rejections posted on gradcafe and reddit...
Their admissions dashboard seems to confirm that 27 people have been admitted.
Link to dashboard: (don't forget to filter for the on-campus program only!)

Hey all,
I too am anxious about waiting and thought that I'd chime in with the status of my applications.
The only two I've heard back from are:
University of San Francisco - MS DS (Accepted, $8K scholarship) MIT - Masters of Business Analytics (Rejected, biggest reach school so not surprised) Still waiting to hear back from:
NYU – Masters in Data Science
University of Chicago - Masters in Analytics
Georgia Tech – Masters in Analytics
Northwestern – Masters in Analytics
Carnegie Mellon University – Masters in Computer Science
Columbia – Masters in Data Science
Hope this helps / relieves someone else's anxiety.
