Just got notified by email that I've been waitlisted at UofT. Almost didn't notice it after seeing "we regret to inform you we cannot offer admission." Keep your heads up guys – everything happens for a reason- 1,803 replies

haha i feel you! Just clarifying, did they send that to everyone regardless of if you already activated your account? Mine says I already did when I log on, but I just want to make sure there wasn't some technical error since the subject of the email said *your* identity requires activation.- 1,803 replies

For everyone waiting to hear back from McMaster about MMI invitations: I'm also thinking I might not get an interview because my sGPA wasn't as high as I thought it would be, but it's impossible to know whether or not we've been rejected just yet since they technically have until March 2nd to send out invites. What I've been doing is logging into the McMaster portal, Mosaic, and it lets you view your application status. As of right now mine still saying Pending, and I keep checking there just to see if I've been rejected. Just thought I'd mention that in case it helps someone else get some additional info during the waiting process haha. Keep your chins up guys! Just over a month to go until we hear back from the other universities.- 1,803 replies

@ anyone who applied to Ottawa: Have you been able to complete the language tests? The instructions said that when you click on Request Access, you should be taken to a new page to pay for the tests and then be granted access in a couple days. I was never taken to a page to pay, I just confirmed that I wanted to request access and now it's a grey button saying Requested. I emailed the OLBI but no response yet. Any suggestions? Thanks!- 1,803 replies

You actually won't be able to find out your ORPAS number until you submit the application. I think you just have to say that you're going to take the test when you apply, and then take it by the deadline (ex: Ottawa's is sometime in February I believe).- 1,803 replies

Wow, I didn't even consider spaces lol. I guess having a shorter word count has its pros and cons. Thanks for the heads up!- 1,803 replies

Yes and no. I asked ORPAS how that works because Western is still accepting a clinical reference but UofT said in an info session not to include one. ORPAS said we can include a clinical reference for Western if we already arranged to have one (details are on Western's website) and UofT has agreed to just ignore it. (But if you're not applying to Western or haven't arranged for a clinical reference before covid, then correct, you just don't include one!) Hope that makes sense haha.- 1,803 replies

First time grad applicant so bear with me lol. I've sent an email to two profs asking for letters of recommendation almost 3 weeks ago. The first one responded the same day only a few hours later, but the second one hasn't given me anything in response. Maybe it's too early but I'm not sure if I should assume that he's not interested, if I should send a follow up, or move onto another potential professor. And if I do go with someone else, I'm not sure what I would say if the no-response prof does decide to reply. Thoughts? Should I calm down and wait longer? Thanks! *Also, can confirm that I have the right email address and he definitely knows who I am since I added him on LinkedIn not too long ago and I took his class last semester.

I actually attached course outlines/syllabi/descriptions and if necessary I gave explanations for what page the description was on. I'm not sure if that was right, but we can always use the live chat or SAM on ORPAS to ask for clarification!- 1,803 replies

Hey, does anyone know if Western has specific requirements for their Statement of Intent? The website just says that one is required but I'm not sure where to start in terms of structure/length/focus, etc. Thanks!- 1,803 replies

That makes sense, I'm sure the main issue is just about when transcripts get sent in. I looked at one of the schools I'm applying for and I think the deadline for final transcripts is June 30th, and the first summer semester ends less than a week before that, so it might be cutting it kind of close, but at least I know it's an option if absolutely necessary. Either way, thanks for your help!

Hi guys, Longtime lurker but first time posting here. I'm going to be applying for Canadian SLP programs for Fall 2021 entry. I'm currently doing well in most of my classes except one which is causing me a lot of anxiety about it possibly bringing down my gpa. I'm not sure if this is a dumb question but I'll try to explain as best I can: The course I'm worried about is a course in my major that I need for my degree to graduate, but it's not an SLP pre req. If I submit my pre requisite grades and my sub-gpa, does anyone know if I could take another course (to replace the one causing me stress and satisfy that graduation requirement) during the summer and still begin a grad school program that coming September? Or would I need to have my degree by the typical graduation date around June? Applications haven't opened here yet so I'm not 100% sure how it works in terms of proving that you have a Bachelors degree, or will have one since I'll be applying during my final year. Hope this was somewhat clear, the stress is getting to me lol. Thanks in advance.
