Also claiming a rejection at UCSD!
-
Princeton was fake, Berkeley probably too. Duke seems to be doing interviews in Institutions, don’t know in other subfields.
-
Which computational social science programs?
-
1) UC Berkeley is at GMT-8, so take that into consideration. 2) Historically, it seems that rejections happen either on the same day as the acceptances or on the very next day. If the posted results are true, acceptances would come today and rejections tomorrow. Either way, we won’t have to wait for too long to find out.

As per the Admissions Timeline e-mail sent on 16/12: The Admissions Committee will review application materials during the next few months. If you still need to submit official GRE, TOEFL, or IELTS scores, please do so as soon as possible. You may upload the scores through the “Post-Submission” form in your application. Please also notify psdgs@nd.edu that your scores have been updated so the committee can be made aware. Finalists for admission will be invited to a virtual visit February 18-19, 2021 So no, these e-mails weren't sent to everyone. Congratulations on your interview!

I believe that these submissions were true, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I imagine that only domestic applicants already somewhat close to faculty would get personal phone calls.
-
Did anyone receive a Berkeley phone call?
-
You only need one acceptance. Even overqualified candidates will receive more rejections than acceptances, so you shouldn't freak out if you got some rejections first.
-
I suggest we wait a few more hours. If until the end of the day no one has claimed an admit then, yeah, it's probably fake, considering previous results (UT Austin, Rice, Northwestern).
-
Same, but less optimistic
-
I believe that they release acceptances all at once.
-
I too haven't heard anything, but I believe the results are real, it's not too early.
-
Comparative (LatAm)

Thank you! I am sure you will receive an offer soon :))
-
I do. Just received the e-mail.
-
It seems like public universities are not reducing their cohorts as much as wealthy privates. There is still hope
-
Does anyone know the conversion rate of interviews to offers (ie. the % interviewees that actually get offers)? Perhaps applicants from the last cycle?
-
Perhaps not all the subfields at Duke are doing interviews.
-
Also haven’t heard back. Comparative, Princeton

Although ETS informs admissions whether the test was taken at home or not, I don’t believe that universities will discriminate between pre- and post-covid scores. Other than being unfair to candidates from regions disproportionally impacted by the pandemic, that seems to be too much work for very little benefit.
-
I imagine that most candidates submitted “test at home” scores this year. Either way, I don’t believe that the GRE will be a decisive factor for any applications.
-
Based on previous conversations with professors, it seems that GRE scores serve as quick filters for dealing with large pools of candidates. I imagine that this cycle, given that the GRE was optional, they used some other metric for the same purpose.

Professor Ian Turner (Yale) said the very same thing:
