hey I just asked whether al interview invites have been sent out, and if not then can they provide an estimated timeline for when interview invites will go out so that we can prepare accordingly with other universities as well

This is the worst response she could have given. No remorse or concern for the applicants at all. They’re absolutely not getting away with this bs. Unacceptable.

This is so beyond upsetting. Not only did people put in time, effort, and money into these applications, but they also had hope. and now Guelph just turns their back and says "nevermind we cant take anyone this year"...?????? absolute bs in my opinion. Also short listing applicants to interview for NEXT YEAR is so beyond stupid because if they get an offer elsewhere they're going to take that instead of hoping that they'll make it through interviews for a spot at Guelph. Universities are so heartless, all they see is business and money, even if it's at the expense of their own students/applicants. Very very upsetting. I am so sorry for all of us who applied to Guelph this year, I share your anger. Also Guelph better prepare for the strongly-worded email I will be sending out to them. In no case is it accceptable for them to keep the money and not accept any students. Even if they did interview some or make a shortlist of those they would like to interview for next year, the fact remains that they aren't taking any students this year. That in itself is enough grounds to warrant a refund to every applicant. It feels like our emotions and time were played with. SOOOO upset about this right now.

wow, thank you for sharing this! In all honesty, I lost all respect for Guelph after all of this. Really disturbing to think that they would do this to applicants. Super, super upsetting

I was going through the counselling psych forum for last year and while some people reported doing their interview in early march for western, others also reported being invited to interview some time in april. So I guess there might be a waitlist or second round type of system for western as well. it is extremelyyyy tough right now to be patient.

Also, does anyone know what's happening with Mac's waitlist? I know they did their interviews last Monday so they're probably in the works of accepting some of those people. Just feeling really impatient especially having not heard from the other unis. This year feels especially odd for us applicants. If anyone has any information about the Mac waitlist please feel free to share here or over dms! Also if you know anybody who has even made it off the waitlist to interview for this program i'd love to get in touch!

Yeah I'm really not sure what to think of all of this. I was thinking of emailing them and just straight up asking if this is true since it's already circulating on the internet. But at the same time I don't have hopes that they will respond lol. There is still hope since your status hasn't changed! But they usually reach out by now to interview people because their decisions are sent out in mid march. Very confusing.

I agree!! I’m not sure how true this is but so far, considering the university hasn’t reached out to anyone about interviews, I’m assuming this must have some truth to it. It also seems like the person who posted this has information on the inside (perhaps connections to those in the program currently or a current student themselves). It’s really upsetting to think this may be true, and if it is true I definitely think they should refund us back. But like I said, money is one thing and our time and effort is another. Not sure how they could give that back to us. Also, I thought it was really sketchy that Shauna hasn’t responded to any emails since applications were submitted, perhaps due to the truthfulness of this post. Hopefully they reach out soon to clear this up. Wishing for the best nonetheless!

Hi guys. Some concerning news: I was on the grad forum results page to see if anyone had reported getting an interview with Guelph, and the last poster had posted this on February 17th: As someone with some information to share: Apparently, the CFT program is going through some changes and will not be interviewing/accepting students for Fall 2022. I would imagine the department will communicate something to applicants in the coming weeks. I am sorry to share this unfortunate news. Obviously, take this with a grain of salt as I am unsure how accurate this is, however it makes a lot of sense. I saw on the CFT FAQ page during applications that they were removing the major thesis component for the thesis stream starting F23. So perhaps due to this major change they would have to go through an extensive process to become accredited again. Not entirely sure but just making guesses at this point. Now it kind of makes sense why all of us were just getting rejected left and right with no logical reasoning. And I guess this is also why we haven't heard of anyone getting an interview invite. It's truly really frustrating if this post is true because even if they refund us the money, they can't give back our time and effort that we all put into these applications just for them to not accept anyone this year. I didn’t get one! I just got the login for SGS. I don’t think they’re using Mosaic for applicants this year but I could be wrong!

Hi everyone, I checked my web advisor status this morning and it changed to “refused, no space”. Seems like the competition is superrrrrr tough this year. Congrats to those still in the game! Wishing you all the luck ❤️

hey guys! a small update for guelph's cft program: someone reported on the results page that their webadvisor status changed to refused, no space, as of today. if that person is reading this: im so sorry your application didn't move forward, but you are resilient nonetheless and are destined to be someone impactful in this world!! also thank you so much for sharing the update! if anyone wants to check out the results page themselves you can find it here: https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/?per_page=20&q=&institution=University+of+Guelph&program=couple+and+family+therapy&degree=Masters I guess it's safe to say interview invites will probably come out next week? nobody has reported an interview invite as of yet so i think its safe to assume they havent gotten to that yet. however, last year when i applied to the program, i had emailed Shauna on Feb 11th to find out if interview invites had gone out and she said that all interview invitations were sent out and that the rest of the emails will go out shortly (she meant rejection emails by other emails). I was officially rejected on webadvisor on the 19th. So I do find it kind of strange that people are getting straight up rejected before others have even heard back about interviews. this could mean that they might have had an exceptional amount of applications (which is a little scary to think about haha). anyways i hope we hear back soon!

LOL no worries!! Yeah usually people have heard back by mid to late March but last year people heard back in may. Hopefully this year won’t be that long I don’t think I have the patience haha

Oh they’re talking about the MEd program from University of Lethbridge! Not OISE. I don’t think anybody has heard back from OISE as of yet.

thanks!! also, definitely dont count yourself out yet. I don't think theyve sent out any interview invites to be honest. It seems like they may be very ehind schedule this year, especially considering students and staff are slowly returning to campus. might have longer this year. keep your head high im sure good news is coming your way!!

Has anyone tried emailing Guelph or Western to find out when they’ll be sending interview invites? Last year around this time they had already sent them out. The waiting game is truly killing me right now ??
