  1. hi, has anyone heard back from guelph about interviews?
  2. Hi! I applied to westerns counselling psych program too! I have no idea when we’ll hear back for interviews tbh especially since I haven’t really connected with anyone currently enrolled to ask them, but on the grad forum results page for uwo’s program one person reported getting an interview email invite on Feb 6 2020. However, I’d take this with a grain of salt not only because that was pre-pandemic but also they reported themselves as an international students. Other than that people seem to have done their interviews in early March but there’s not that many reported interview dates for 2021 they just reported dates they were accepted to the program which was mid-March! If I had to guess I think they’ll probably contact people soon just like Guelph because Guelph also sends acceptance emails in mid-March. I’ll let you know if/when I hear back!
  3. hi all! I also received an email yesterday around 9:30am stating I was not invited for an interview but I have been placed on the waitlist for mcmaster. Also wondering if anyone has heard back from Guelph? I know its only the third day of the month but their website states that they would reach out in early feb.
  4. Hi! Absolutely do NOT give up hope! This is only the first day of February and typically interview invites will span over the first couple of days in February. There is still a really good chance you might be invited! They don’t usually send out all of their invitations in one day. Hopefully you’ll hear back soon!! Wishing you the best also, based on the 2021 and 2020 forums, it seems that McMaster typically sends out rejection letters in mid March. I would say, if you don’t hear back about an interview by mid February (like Feb 18th or so), you can safely assume that you weren’t selected this round. However there’s still tons of time left for that so definitely keep monitoring your email!
  5. Oh I see…thank you so much!
  6. Where does yours say submitted? Mine doesn’t show any status, it just says I’ll receive my decision on this page and I can motinor my status there. Are you talking about the bottom of the page on the right hand side above the checklist where it says application submitted and the date? Sorry I’m just new to sgs so i wanna make sure I’m not missing out on something
  7. No they usually send out their invites in early Feb!
  8. Does anyone know the date for the formal interview for utsc clinical psychology program?
  9. Hi! To the person who posted their interview invite today on the results page for clinical psychology at UofT can you please message me? Thanks!!
  10. Hi everyone! I saw a couple of people (like 4) report on the results page that they got emails for pre interviews with POIs for the clinical psychology (Utsg) program. Just wondering if pre-interviews with POIs are required for the formal interview or not? If you don’t get an invite for a pre interview should you just assume you haven’t been chosen this year?
  11. anyone else finding it really tough to write a statement of only 500 words for western?? its stressing me out to leave out SO many details due to the word limit i wish it was at least 750 words - that seems reasonable if they want you to talk about research and work experience lol
  12. omg same!!! i can see all the documents, like whats been submitted and received. its just weird to not be able to see the status yet..
  13. ugh thats so frustrating!! mine still hasnt updated, but hopefully thatll change soon! its weird because Mac uses the same type of system and their submission page shows the status right away, so i would think it would be the same for uoft. anyways, fingers crossed for us!!
  14. hey guys, is anyone able to view their application status through SGS for OISE uoft? I can see my application and all, but theres no specific section that shows whether your applicstion is under review or not. I thought it might show up after the 25th since they give you 10 extra days to upload any docs, but i just checked and still couldnt see anything. Please let me know if this is the same for you as well, or if it is something odd on my end. Thanks!
  15. hey, does anyone know if guelph's cft program looks at applications on a rolling basis if they are completed before the deadline? i just finished uploading all the docs and my references are also all submitted so im wondering if my application will only be viewed after the deadline (dec 6) or before that? i know i wont hear back till early march regardless. this isnt a very important question but just for my own curiosity lol TIA! hope everyone's applications are going well!!
  16. awesome, thanks so much for your reply!! good luck with submissions today, wishing you all the best!
  17. Hi all, does anyone know if referees have to submit their references by nov 15 for uoft or are they able to also submit them past nov 15? thanks!
  18. Hi all! I am so eager to apply to a couple of counselling programs this year. I applied to Guelph's CFT program last year but was ultimately not admitted, however that was expected and I was more happy to get familiar with the admissions process to prepare myself better this year. I am applying to the following programs/universities: 1. University of Guelph CFT 2. UofT OISE Counselling and Psychotherapy 3. McMaster Psychotherapy (although this one is a bit iffy for me as they are still not recognized as an accredited program from CRPO) 3. UWO MA Counselling Psychology Here are my stats: education: bsc honours psychology and neuroscience with a minor in biology final year gpa: ~3.80 (around an A-); gpa for final two years: ~3.72 work experience: 3500+ hours of work experience over the span of 4 years in counselling and community service roles - currently working as a substance abuse counsellor for youth in conjunction with the court systems of Ontario. The role is within a widely recognized non profit organization in Ontario and currently using motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, emotion-focused therapy and solution-focused brief therapy with clients (July 2021-present) - ~1600 hours by the time application is submitted - previous experience working as a developmental therapist with autistic children in a school setting (April 2021 - July 2021) - 180 hours - developmental personal support worker for special needs and dual diagnostic adults and seniors in a residential home setting with a non profit organization (May 2020 - September 2020) - 720 hours - inclusion facilitator/counsellor for special needs and dual diagnostic children and teens in a community camp setting (May 2019 - September 2019) - 520 hours - child and youth worker assistant for autistic children's day milieu program as well as a youth mental health walk in clinic (May 2018 - September 2018) - 520 hours volunteer experience: - crisis line support worker for sexual assault centre working with indigenous communities using intersectional feminism approach (April 2021 - present) - 192 hours (6 hours per week) - counselling support at an addictions treatment private practice centre (May 2020 - present) - 408 hours (6 hours per week) - executive member on uni club prior to graduating aiding in organizing keynote speaker events for raising awareness for autism and childhood cancer (2019/2020/2021) If anyone has been accepted/previously applied to any of the programs mentioned above, or if they know someone who has been admitted to any of the mentioned programs, I would love to hear your feedback/thoughts on the strength of my application. I look forward to hearing some great news from you all in the upcoming months! Best of luck to everyone, and I hope you all are safe and healthy during these times! Thank you for all of your help in advance. Cheers!!
  19. Hi all! I’m applying to this program in Sept for Fall 2022 admission. I’d love to chat with anyone who has applied and/or has gotten interviewed/accepted! Feel free to shoot me a DM! Stay safe & healthy!
  20. Hi all, thought I’d let you know that I was rejected from Western. Unfortunately this means I was rejected from both schools I applied to. I’m not in too much shock considering it was a slim chance due to my low sGPA. If anyone who was accepted to Western or UofT this year can private message me their stats, that will be sooo helpful and appreciated so I can improve my application for next year! I will be continuing my job as a direct support professional for a year, and I’ll also be looking for research opportunities with profs (although idk how likely this is considering I’m graduating this summer). I believe my sGPA will be A LOT higher in the next application cycle when I finish this semester, so I’m not sure if I’ll be taking extra courses (except another physiology credit so I can try for uoft next time as well). This is definitely not the outcome I was hoping for, and I’m not gonna lie my spirit was very broken last night, but today I stand stronger and more hopeful for the future. I hope I see some of you in the next application cycle! Please don’t lose hope (although I know it’s easier said than done) & continue working hard for what you want and what is good for your mental health! I am still extremely proud of all of us for getting through this. Congratulations to all of you that have been accepted/waitlisted so far or will be in the near future - it is well-deserved and I wish you the best on your exciting new journey! To the rest of us, I send you nothing but happiness and joy. Enjoy your long weekend everyone, and see you next year! ❤️
  21. Hi everyone! Less than 4 hours to go!! I just want to thank all of you for supporting each other through this journey. No matter what the outcome may be for you, we should all be proud of the hard work we’ve put into this application cycle, and the resilience we’ve shown going through this experience while living through the pandemic. We all have a lot to celebrate and be proud of. I am proud of each & every one of you! Good luck and stay resilient ❤️
  22. Hey guys, anybody else feeling super anxious for April 1st? I can't seem to focus on anythingggg going on in my life besides application results. I keep obsessively checking Western's portal page even though I know I won't find out until April 1st lol. My birthday is also coming up in a week and normally I'm really excited about my birthday (especially this year when we have nothing else to celebrate due to the pandemic), but the stress of finding out whether I got into Western or not is absolutely killing me... so much so that I impulsively cut 12 inches off of my 4-year long grown hair lmao. Anyways, I hope everyone is keeping healthy during this time! A couple of more weeks and we'll have our decisions! Good luck to everyone . Also, congratulations to everyone who has been accepted or waitlisted to any university so far! It's an amazing achievement and I hope you all are very proud of yourselves! For the others (myself included), let's keep our heads high and hope for the best! Remember, everything happens for a reason . Cheers!
  23. Yes, I got my SLP to provide a clinical reference letter, although the requirement was waived this year!
  24. Hi all, I just discovered this thread and was also rejected from Guelph. It was my first choice dream program so it definitely stings a little to have not even gotten an interview. Hopefully ill apply next year with a stronger application! Congrats to those who got interviews & offers of admission! A huge congratulations to all of us as well for going through the application process and putting in our maximum efforts, regardless of the outcome. Stay safe!
