Thanks, guys! The interview was great. I took a deep breath before I turned on the camera and tried not to be nervous. There were only two professors and they were really nice. We talked for about 18 minutes (it was supposed to last 15 minutes). They asked me to talk about my current job (I’ve been a teacher for 17 years), why I chose Iowa State, my areas of interest, and if I would like to teach writing to native and non-native undergrad students. My POI said they will now present my case to the Applied Linguistics faculty and I’ll soon receive an update. Thanks for the good vibes!

I’ll be interviewed in 3 hours. I’m so anxious.. I couldn’t even sleep tonight. Cross your fingers ??

Thanks for answering my question, guys! I have good news. My PI emailed me a couple of days ago and said my application is among those selected for the next step, the interview. I’ll be interviewed this Wednesday. Wish me luck! ?

900 views!!!! Jeez!!! I’m applying only to MA programs (2 Applied Linguistics/TESL programs and 1 Linguistics). The schools are Iowa State (it’s definitely my favorite program), University of Alabama, and University of Illinois.

Just forget it and focus on the other documents. I’m also applying to a few MA TESOL programs. Fortunately, they waived the GRE! ?
