Yo - programs aren't supposed to pressure applicants to make a decision before April 15th, so we shouldn't be pressuring people to make decisions, either. I keep seeing a lot of posts in the results section telling people to hurry up and accept/decline which isn't cool. Of course I'd love to have closure, but I would never pressure another applicant to make a decision. Hopefully it's no one from these threads but just in case, I wanted to reiterate this point.

Does anyone know when Rutgers might send out invites post-interview (or if they already have)?

Applying to these graduate programs has been an eye-opening experience. It seems that the training of future psychologists is governed by the narrow needs and interests of a few faculty members, rather than the pressing mental health needs of the communities. So many dedicated people, eager to devote their lives to clinical psychology, are not able to gain access to the profession because entrance is so tightly regulated. If medical school admissions were run this way, there would be almost no physicians. I think the APA should reconsider the academic model for training and licensing of clinical psychologists, for this system fails to serve interests of future practitioners and patients alike.

Hi! Thanks for sharing some info
I'm new to this thread but did apply to the University of Denver's Clinical Psyc PhD program for this cycle. I know you said that you could really only speak to the lab you're in- but I'm wondering if you could share the initials of the PI who's lab you are an RA for? I'm curious if they've started reviewing applicants yet.
I applied to work under the PI with the initials K.F. and am very interested!!

hello everyone!!! i'm a clinical psych grad student at university of miami. i was sharing this website with a friend who is applying and thought i'd poke around for the ~mems~ and maybe drop in with some info. i've seen a lot of the stuff on twitter about how competitive this years' applications are -- i can't imagine how that's making ya'll feel, so sorry if some of that messaging hasn't been super thoughtfully conveyed. BUT i wanted to say that, as a grad student, i know my PI and many of our faculty seem incredibly busy this year! our university, and i believe many others, pushed our semester up this year, meaning finals just wrapped for a lot of programs and many faculty are deep in the trenches of grading. that, on top of planning a virtual applicant weekend, on top of many programs reviewing faculty job apps for new diversity-geared positions, on TOP of the pandemic, might mean things are slower this year. i worked at another top 10 university prior to grad school and am still in touch with a clinical psych mentor there; they seem similarly swamped with new COVID-related studies, trying to get lab studies up and running again, etc.
if anyone applied to the university of miami and wants to connect, feel free to message me! good luck to you all. my advice is to also try and get some rest now while you can, before interview invites start coming in and you have to hunker down again to prep for those. props to you all for applying in such crazy circumstances.

Yeah of course! I figured it may help ease some anxiety for some. My PIs initials are A.D. I don't know if that PI is looking but I know that in our lab they are starting initial reviews next week and to start reaching out in the new year. I expect that it would likely be similar for your PI too but I can't say for sure. I hope that helps I'm sorry I don't have more info.
