  1. I am also curious! I have committed somewhere else too and still have not heard from CUNY!
  2. I was admitted to USC, University of Kansas & University of Chicago. I've accepted Chicago's offer!
  3. Mine is for CEB! I got the unofficial notification on 2/24 and official on 2/25, but I didn't get it via email, so check your portal the official letter might have posted! Yay!! Sounds like we might be in the same place next year!
  4. Hi fellow EEBs, just thought I would give you all an update! I never heard from CUNY... so not looking good for me there. But I have three offers from University of Southern California, University of Kansas and University of Chicago. They are all really great options, Chicago was my first choice going into this so I am leaning towards Chicago right now. I really hope you all get good news - this was a brutal year!!
  5. Nothing, starting to get very anxious!!
  6. Agreed! But not holding my breath - I know how competitive it is (worked at AMNH for 7+ years and have lots of friends that have gone through the program). I figured those would be the two! CR has always been really nice to me, we've had some good turtle conversations! A few of my friends have been in their labs (idk if you already talked to lots of current/former students or not, but feel free to DM me if you want to talk to them). I applied to work with BS, but also mentioned JC.
  7. Interesting, thanks for the info! Good luck in your interview!! Who are you hoping to work with? I'm assuming someone in herpetology?
  8. Looks like there are some interviews for RGGS posted on the results page. Not sure how if it includes the CUNY fellowships though...
  9. Hang in everyone! I also haven't heard from CUNY yet, but it seems like first week of Feb is when people heard back in the past so finger's crossed! In other news my first interviews are tomorrow and I am ridiculously nervous - even though I feel like my verbal communication / interview skills are pretty good, I'm so close yet still so far ? Has anyone else done interviews yet? Any tips?
  10. I heard back from Harvard OEB, sounds like they have already sent interview invites out. But they might be sending more after this round of interviews...
  11. I emailed the department, will see if I get a response. Now it looks like a few rejections have been posted by people who heard from their POI, but still no interview requests.
  12. Yeah also RGGS fellowship. Although, I heard they are not taking very many students this year (COVID/budget) so I don't have high hopes for that one.
  13. Haven’t heard anything from CUNY or Harvard OEB
  14. I think that within EEB there's some flexibility. Some researchers want to study every aspect of a single taxonomic group from ecology to behavior to evolution etc.. (Ex: someone who studies ecology/evolution in frogs). Other people specialize more in processes. Instead of focusing on a single taxa, they use many different species to study an ecological or evolutionary theory (Ex: someone who studies communication strategies in varied taxa such as birds, frogs, whales, bats etc.) For example, if you are interested in "vulnerability of species to environmental change" you may decide to work on marine ecosystems and species for your masters, the tools you learn and use to analyze data will likely be applicable to other groups of organisms, but the collection strategies will differ. So I guess the short answer is, I think you can make it work however you decide to go, just be sure to work on something that you're interested in!
  15. Thanks! Yeah I think they are a little behind the biomedical programs based on my searches through past app cycles on the results page. I think it also varies by program. I think we should start hearing from more places about interviews soon. I think rejections come out a little later.
  16. I've heard back from University of Chicago and USC so far.
  17. Hi EEB folks! I am interested in bird evolution and museum collections. I applied to Harvard OEB, University of Chicago CEB, University of Kansas EEB, CUNY EEB, Fordham, USC & University of Michigan. I've got an interview at University of Chicago, but that's the only place I've heard back from so far.
