Hi guys, I hope you don't mind if I rant a bit. I guess this entire cycle has just been really hard. I received my waitlist from BU (where I currently work, got my undergrad and masters degree from AND all of my recommendations were from faculty in the program...), and I'm just... sad I guess. Pretty much rejected from every other program (I am very fortunate to have one interview though). Like it just doesn't seem to make sense to work this hard (already for the institution I work for) and now I'm just sitting at my work desk like K, thanks. Sorry to take over and rant, but I just want to say if you're feeling down today I feel you and I know we will make it through but its okay to be a little sad. Virtual hugs all around! ❤️

Was this from the grad admissions email or someone from BMS? I received an email this morning from grad admissions saying applications are still under review so before I email someone from BMS just curious!

So I was curious about this too since I haven't heard anything. I emailed the admissions coordinator and got an email saying I'm on the direct admit list??? Which essentially means if a PI picks me by 1/31 I could join their lab directly. However if they don't pick me, then I am rejected and don't enter the regular pool? I didn't find out until I emailed so maybe worth an email to the coordinator!

Has anyone had a preliminary interview? I got an email saying I have a 25 min interview with people from the graduate admissions board. Has anyone had something similar? How did you prepare?

Does anyone have info on Baylor? I keep getting the, your application is still under review emails, but not sure when the reviews will stop and invites begin? I applied for Immunology and microbiology

BU PiBS sent out a scary email today basically just saying there were a lot of applicants and a few people may get interviews before Christmas but most wont and not to panic. Also got a rejection from Duke yesterday to check the portal. Slowly but surely

I'm at work but when I am home I crochet so I force my hands to be busy and not on my phone it kinda works? lol I'm still 0/12

I work at BU, seems like BU is on track for after the holidays. I tried chatting with a few of the PIs, we have a holiday party next week I will try to see what I find out haha. But don't stress, PIBS is usually after Christmas! You got this!

Question, if I submitted my application before the priority deadline, but one of my recommendation letters didn't come in until a few days later (specifically UNC BBSP on the 23rd but recommendation arrived 25th), was my application technically not before the priority deadline?
