Hm, would the Ford Fellowship maybe be applicable? https://sites.nationalacademies.org/cs/groups/pgasite/documents/webpage/pga_362124.pdf GRFP is annoying because results come back in April, far past when anyone would be still interviewing students, so I don't know how it would help unless you've been waitlisted. I also applied to it with the hopes of it boosting my (not-clinical) applications, before I realized the timelines wouldn't match up. It did come in handy however, forcing me to have a personal statement that could be adapted for grad apps, and a research statement that I used as a writing sample.

I was going to do a maroon, informal blazer that's basically a cardigan with lapels with a nice white shirt. I typically wear this with a skirt or black jeans for conferences and it looks nice without looking stuffy (caveat: I'm on the West coast, I think dress codes are more chill here). Wow, thanks for the lighting tips! I'll have to rearrange my office (I'm terribly backlit). How much do you think that all matters, or is it just creating the appearance that we're put together haha?

I haven't heard anything *from Yale aside from the post in the results, but I did a preliminary interview with a PI in December who said that she'd email me in January either way.

From the Columbia grad coordinator - "Thank you for your interest - since the Prospective Student Day is set for Feb 18/19, our faculty has not made the decisions just yet. I am expecting this to happen within a week or so."

Still waiting on U Chicago - I emailed their grad program coordinator and she said that invitations will be sent the second week of January. I'm about to email Columbia as well - those are my last two! And - anyone who's applying to Stanford, I'm a current research coordinator there, and am happy to answer any questions about life here, good and bad!

Wow, way to go! Was there any indication that other PIs were sending out interview offers as well? I also applied PBS at UCSB.
