I'm not sure if they send it to everyone -- it came with a waiver of the application fee. I guess they could waive it for everyone but that begs the question -- why have one?

Hi - I got one of those too. I did it but I did not get the greatest feeling from it. I would treat it as sort of a mini interview. But, I was kinda thrown off because the person started off by asking what questions I had. I thought that they were going to tell me something about themselves or about the program and I was just kinda caught off guard and confused because they asked me to meet... I dk. I hope yours goes well!

my grad gpa is 4.0 from top state school in a non-thesis masters. undergrad gpa is 3.5, 99th percentile for verbal/93rd percentile for quant, 5.5 writing. BUT, no research experience.

my safety schools rejected me (20s-30s in the rankings). does that mean that my 1-10 schools i applied to are probably rejections too? does anyone have a worthy backup to think of? should i be applying to schools that have deadlines in february? if so, any suggestions?

really? historically they say before january 30. and someone has claimed an acceptance. i wonder if the acceptance to the person above was informal

I hope you're right, but in my opinion they probably send the acceptances first and then the waitlists. It looks like they've moved on to waitlists a while ago now.

Hey there - I did send revised SOPs to a couple schools. I sent them to the admissions staff in an e-mail and didn't really go into detail as to why I was resending. It wouldn't hurt to try but I think the fact that it's been 3 weeks might mean that some schools don't accept it because they've begun reviewing. I would still try though.

Does anyone know if Madison always interviews? In other words, does not getting an interview mean you got cut?

Hi - thanks for posting this! I have a low undergrad GPA, but really high graduate school gpa and also did not turn in GRE scores. Did you work after undergrad? Curious as to what you think may have made you competitive or whether they said what made you competitive. also - did you get any funding? thanks so much!
