  1. Hey all! I hope everyone is doing good and has gotten some good news over the last few months. Has anyone heard from CUNY, Stony Brook University, University of Delaware, or Purdue?
  2. I as well as a lot of my classmates applied do CU Boulder and have not heard back yet. I’ve only seen a few posts about being contacted by faculty but anytime I’ve asked about it I never get a response on this forum. ??‍♀️
  3. I applied there and haven’t heard anything either. These last few weeks have been radio silent and it’s kind of nerve-wracking
  4. I applied to CU Boulder and haven’t heard anything
  5. Has anyone heard from CU Boulder?
  6. I also applied to CU Boulder and I haven’t heard anything. Their website does say that they review applications all throughout January so I’m thinking we won’t get any finalized information until February
  7. Hey! I had an interview with a faculty member at UMass Amherst two weeks ago. The faculty member I met with informed me that the interview process would be going on for another 3 to 4 weeks before any final decisions are made and invites are sent out. She mentioned that there were a lot of interviews that she had to get through personally as well as many other faculty in the field. Hope this helps!
  8. Hey just and update: I applied to CUNY and got an interview from one of the faculty I applied to today. So keep an eye on your email because you might hear back soon if I was able to get one. Wishing you luck!
  9. I applied too and haven’t heard anything
  10. I applied to CUNY and I haven’t heard anything yet either
  11. I am actually from Washington state and I’m not applying to Washington State University. My mistake it was a typo I meant to say Washington University in St. Louis rather than Washington state @ St. Louis
  12. I was able to get an interview with UMass Amherst but have not heard anything since my interview two weeks ago. I also haven’t heard back from UC Irvine or CUNY. Hoping we get some good news soon!
  13. Congrats! I also had a preliminary interview with Denver two weeks ago, but I have yet to hear anything back. I also had an interview with the professor at UMass Amherst and the faculty member advised me that interviews would continue for another 3 to 4 weeks and then she would be in contact. I am thinking it might be since there are more applications this season, they have to conduct more interviews than usual. Hopefully you hear back soon hoping you get good news!
  14. Thanks for letting me know! I haven’t heard anything from UC Irvine either. Wishing you luck and hoping you get an invitation soon!
  15. Me and a lot of my friends who applied to social psychology PhD programs are all so stressed! It’s so hard waiting, not knowing whether or not the next time we open our email if it will be a request for interviews or a rejection. Has anyone here heard back from the following schools? UC Irvine, UC Riverside, CU Boulder, University of Denver, CUNY, Stony Brook University, University of Delaware, UMASS Amherst, Washington State @ St. Louis, or Rutgers.
  16. Tell me about it ? I’m so stressed out waiting for admissions updates and I check here so often to see if anyone is posting. Hope y’all are doing good and staying sane.
  17. One thing that a lot of my professors have told me about grad school interviews is to be really enthusiastic. Even though the school might not be your top pick, it is still important for you to show your enthusiasm and excitement for being in the program. Although you won’t be in person it is also still important to dress the part. Make sure you are dressed in formal attire at least from the top half or what is seen on camera. Ensure that you are always speaking in a respectable tone and practice active listening skills. Show that you were attentive by nodding your head or smiling when the professor says something that you agree with or that interests you. I have only had two interviews over zoom so far and have not had a formal interview with current PhD students but I’m sure many others could have helpful tips on these here as well! Hope this helps!
  18. Yeah I honestly think getting interviews early on is more stressful than getting them later in the application process. A lot of my programs won’t even finish reviewing applications until the end of January so realistically I understand I shouldn’t be getting any more interviews but it’s still nerve-racking to think about possibly not getting into any of my programs. I’m finishing my last interview today and it should take a lot of stress off of me especially since school just started back up as well. But if you or anyone else on this thread wants any interview tips I’d be happy to share my experience!
  19. Hey all! I am currently an undergraduate with a double major in criminal justice and psychology with a minor in social science research methods. I applied to about 9-10 programs and have already received interviews from two. I had my interview with University of Massachusetts Amherst today and have another interview with the University of Denver tomorrow. Reading through everyone’s posts and even looking through a few Twitter threads that you all provided, I’m honestly surprised I’ve already gotten two interviews. Although I do see myself as a strong student, with the amount of applications and how competitive it is this year I’m kind of worried that these two interviews might be it for me. I’m just wondering how everyone else is feeling especially at this point in the application season? Are there any updates on what schools you’ve heard from? Also, any tips on dealing with the stress of simply waiting for admissions decisions and interviews is much appreciated! I will also try to chime in with anything I find helpful or that has helped me through the process so far! Hope you all are well!
