  1. Today some people posted wait-listing for the Duke Biostatistics Ph.D. program, but I haven't got an acceptance nor waitlisting email after my interview. Should I expect rejection?
  2. I can see not a few professors have viewed my profile... They are mostly the faculty of my application list. Do they also read the applicant's LinkedIn profile? I guess this is not a big deal, just being curious.
  3. Oops, sorry for the mistake. I misread the original post.
  4. I had an interview with a faculty in mid-January and also joined their virtual visit day. Grad coordinator said that they had two more adcom meetings to come and the final offers would be available no later than the first week of February(if I remember correctly).
  5. I'm afraid that I might be not help with that. But I'm sure that the others in this forum can definitely help you with that.
  6. I guess you have a good background in math. But I can not see Multivariate Statistics, Bayesian, and GLM(or categorical data analysis) in your coursework. Some computing courses on SAS, R, Python, and Database might help too. If you are worried about the reputation of your school, having extraordinary LORs are really important. Seems like your GRE scores are high enough to not be automatically screened by the top 20 schools. For SOP, you can refer to here. If you write an excellent essay with the fine language control of English and find a perfect fit for your interests, then you can also be one of the top choices for the programs. To sum up, I highly recommend you to take some more statistics courses and contact your alumni who got into the top statistics programs ASAP. They could recommend you some professors you can ask a help for.
  7. Hello, I am an international student applying for Stat and Biostat PhD programs. Today I got an email inviting me to an interview for the Biostat and Bioinfo PhD program at Duke and they are asking if I have some faculty I would like to invite as interviewers. How would you answer this, or, how DID you answer for this?
