  1. Does anyone know if NYU has sent out all acceptances? Has anyone received info about their visit day?
  2. Hi all! I am currently in the process of putting together a list of PhD programs I would like to apply to. In my search for potential advisors, I have found many professors doing great work in the research topic/area that I am interested in. However, some of these professors use a methodology different to what I would like to be trained in/apply in my research. How concerned should I be regarding this? Is matching research interests enough or is finding/prioritizing a methodological match more important? Thanks in advance for your answers!
  3. Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could help me out by letting me know of some professors who might be working on the refugee education subfield within PoliSci programs? Since this is a niche specialization, any leads would be appreciated. Thank you!
  4. Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could help me out by letting me know of some professors who might be working on the refugee education subfield within Sociology programs? Since this is a niche specialization, any leads would be appreciated. Thank you!
  5. Hi all! I would love to know if you have recommendations for some PhD programs where the faculty have some focus on international education/education in crisis or conflict/refugee education? (Preferably in North America). Thank you!
  6. Hi everyone! I am planning to apply for a PhD in Education for the Fall 2023 intake. I have a BA in English and a MA in Women's Studies, both from India. For the last 4 years, I have been working as an RA in an organization that is in the forefront of doing randomized evaluations. I have specifically worked on health and education sector research projects over these years. For my PhD, I am planning continue in this line of research, but I have not taken any Econometrics courses in my academic coursework. I was wondering how much of a chance do I stand in being considered a feasible candidate to Education PhD programs especially getting to work with faculty members who specialize experimental/quasi-experimental methods? Thank you!
  7. Hi everyone! I am looking to apply for a PhD next year. I have a background in working on research that uses experimental or quasi-experimental methods and am looking to apply to Sociology programs where one or more faculty members have similar methodological interests. It would be very helpful if some of you could provide some insights regarding this. Thank you!
