Very true - you only need one, as Amy said!

Just woke up to a Berkeley rejection in my inbox two rejections so far this week, not feeling optimistic at all now about my chances even though there are still 15 decisions left to receive. At the very least I appreciate them sending out rejections and acceptances at the same time, I think it is quite clear that the UCLA acceptances have gone out and rejections will come later.

Is anyone else finding it kind of funny when on the results page for 'History' all these Art History results also pop up? In some ways it's interesting because I've seen some universities like UW Madison releasing their results for Art History in the last few days so hoping that means History won't be too long now. I know UW Madison released their Political Science results a week or so ago because it was mentioned on another thread I follow.

I think if you find someone who has gotten an offer from this first choice university you could have a conversation with them only if they are willing and comfortable to do so. It's still early so they may also be waiting on some other decisions and thus may not have made up their mind yet. Best of luck with getting off the waitlist!

Hi there, I'm a modern Americanist too! Wishing you good luck! Have also applied to Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Duke, Wisconsin, Michigan & Berkeley, plus several more as you can see from my signature ? Have only heard back from Vanderbilt so far which was a reject despite my POI saying I was a very strong candidate - they only accepted 5 students this year so I can't be too bummed. I'm hoping we might get some results end of week, but reckon next week and the following week is when we will see more results released!! I emailed Duke yesterday and they said they're currently reviewing applications, will get back in next couple weeks. I'm guessing the next to release results would be Wisconsin-Madison - perhaps they'll get back at the end of the week! Berkeley I think may have given some offers out already but I don't know for which field.
-
Hi there, I applied to Princeton! I'm fairly certain their results will come out next week. Their website says mid-February and past results almost always come out the second week of February! So definitely will either be next week or the following week - but most likely it'll be next week. Reckon Yale will be fairly soon also - acceptances last few years have been early-mid Feb! Good luck!

Haven’t heard from UIUC yet but since there are no entries at all on the survey I think they probably haven’t released anything yet. A lot of places are a bit behind this year. Vanderbilt gave out 5-7 acceptances Friday so unfortunately if you didn’t hear then there won’t be good news from them. My POI emailed me back Monday letting me know while I was a strong candidate the spaces were limited this year. Best of luck, I’m an Americanist too ?

UT Austin gets back super late, like end of February/first week of March, so don’t worry about them at all! Yale I think will get back sooner - maybe end of this week but definitely in the next 2-3 weeks! I have no idea about University Illinois Chicago, I applied to Urbana Champaign and I think their results should be out soon too! so don’t despair just yet! Good luck!

Congrats!! That’s great news and also somewhat reassuring in regards to the interview aspect. And thanks for letting us know news will be coming in the next few days. What is your field? ?
-
Ah okay, so you are central time zone! All my fam is in Texas so I’m always calculating minus 6 hours from here in UK to there. Good to know - I’m US history.
-
Same here (for the US schools)! I've applied to quite a few so am hoping for at least one piece of good news this month! I'm guessing Duke will be next week or the following! Best of luck!
-
Congrats on your acceptance! That's such bizarre timing but maybe it's different time zones - are you in the US or elsewhere in the world? I'm guessing if other UCLA applicants don't hear back the rest of this week we can assume rejections. Can I just ask what field you are in? (And congrats again - I would love to get just one US acceptance)
-
Definitely think that is the best thing to do right now - seems like most decisions will be coming out 2nd and 3rd weeks of Feb at this point, so best to just carry on as normal until they do ?
-
It definitely is - I just got an email back from Duke History saying they are currently reviewing applications and will have decisions released within the next few weeks (their website states that they give out decisions in mid-February so expect to hear from them 2nd/3rd week Feb). Usually they have acceptances out at the end of Jan, so I think pretty much everywhere can expect a 2-3 week delay this year. By the end of the month most decisions will have been resolved.
-
For anyone who's applied to Duke - they are currently evaluating applications and said decisions will come out 'within the next few weeks' so most likely will be next week or the following since their website says mid-February.
-
Yeah, I think Cornell always tends to be that third week of February so I'd guess they'll send their decisions out then. I am so thankful February is a short month as it's a hella stressful one ?
-
I was going to contact UW Madison History Dept & Duke History Dept. Thinking UW Madison should be fairly soon since y'all got those results from their political science dept the other week. They usually get back 1st/2nd week Feb so may just wait on them. Duke seems to be a couple weeks behind this year though.
-
Does anyone have any tips for contacting graduate admissions offices to find out when decisions are going to be released? Best to call or to email? Am just thinking of contacting a couple which are slightly behind schedule this year to find out what is up.
-
Anyone claiming the UCLA acceptances? Says they are posted 2nd February which doesn't make much sense as it is currently the middle of the night in California but then the emails could have come out yesterday ?
-
Their website says that they release decisions by mid-Feb so I guess we can expect to hear back soon?
-
nope, not yet. I'm not hopeful any response from them will be positive though. I think it was individual profs though, based on correspondence with another poster on the forum. Usually they get back around this time for acceptances based on past results. Best of luck to you too! I just got my first rejection from Vanderbilt, so just had a good cry. Feeling pessimistic but I still have 16 results to arrive. Out of interest, has anyone on here applied to Duke? They seem quite late in their responses this year.

US Policing and its connections with US Foreign Policy - hence why there's some overlap into PolSci/Government as work on the Policing area spans history, political science, sociology etc.!
-
They're all for History - Vanderbilt (I fear already too late there), Yale, Wisconsin-Madison & Duke.
-
So much so - I know one place for sure is getting back today and I'm so anxious it's making it hard to concentrate on work. Expecting at least 4 decisions this week.

Have they gone out already or are they coming out today? Thanks.
