  1. Hey! I did my first interview last week so I was in the same boat as you. My biggest piece of advice is to have a list of questions that you want to ask the POI! They will ask if you have questions and it’s super important that you do. I also found I wasn’t asked nearly as many questions as I anticipated, so don’t stress yourself out too much. Just try and relax, act natural, and be yourself.
  2. I spoke to someone at Queen’s who said that they have their admissions meeting in late January and they said everyone should be notified by mid February if they have an interview or if they have been rejected. They didn’t say anything about when interview invites go out though ? Hope this could be of some help!!
  3. Simon Fraser sent out rejections today, unfortunately I was one of them. Came out as a mass email. But that’s okay! Hopefully good news comes soon
  4. If it makes you both feel better, I had contacted the graduate program administrator to ask about a timeline for interviews and what not, and they said that faculty are currently contacting students for interviews and will keep doing so throughout the month!
  5. Yeah it can be hard to know. When I got confirmation that my application was submitted, the email indicated there was no formal interview for their clinical program, but professors may contact you!
  6. I meant to take out the last line on this post, sorry. I am not able to edit posts so I cannot change the original. At this time I am not ready to share initials, I thought it meant did the person message me directly... oops!
  7. School: Ryerson Program: Clinical Psychology MA Interview type: POI requested time to talk. Date of Invite: Jan 18th DM for POI(s): Yes This is my first interview! If anyone has advice on how to prepare that would be greatly appreciated!!
  8. Thanks so much for the insight. I will be sure to try out some of your tips
  9. It’s nice to know there are fellow new applicants here! Also, don’t regret that you went back late, be proud that you went back! It’s not easy to take on a degree at any point in life and it’s an accomplishment that you definitely shouldn’t shadow with regret. I really hope within the next few months we see an update from you that you got in, I believe in you!
  10. Hi everyone! I applied for some clinical psychology programs this year and this is my first year applying. I am just wrapping up my undergrad and unfortunately after reading through these forums I feel very discouraged about my applications. When I contacted potential supervisors back in the summer/fall of 2020, I received a ton of positive feedback from every professor I contacted. Many were encouraging me to apply and were excited to review my application. In August, I had an online informal interview/meeting with a potential supervisor and shortly after I met with one of their current students to ask questions about the school and program. Those meetings went super well and the prof even helped me apply for government funding. I also had an informal interview/meeting with another potential supervisor in September for a different school and that went fantastic. I have been in contact with him since June. However, I haven’t received any invites to interviews yet, any advice for helping calm the nerves I have been feeling?
