  1. I committed to BC last month because at the time Columbia had told me I wouldn’t hear back for a few weeks. I was hoping that Columbia would give me better money than BC but BC is cheaper even with me having to find housing.
  2. I got 13k a year too! I also got 3k in work study. It's still very much not affordable even though I would be commuting. Are you going to commit to Columbia?
  3. Hi sorry I read your message wrong! I was not on the waitlist I had not received anything prior!
  4. I received my acceptance on Tuesday! I am just waiting to hear about my financial aid package before I decline
  5. Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know that I was accepted to Columbia Tuesday evening. I applied before the priority deadline, so I am kind of peeved at waiting four months to hear back. I already committed to a different school, so unless they send me a great financial package, I'm going to decline their acceptance. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!
  6. Hey! I committed to Boston College on March 3rd and had someone reach out personally for field placement on March 11. I'm not sure how other schools do it, but BC was very fast.
  7. Hey! I committed to BC. There's a facebook group but it looks like people do not use it at all. I'll link it anyways tho: https://www.facebook.com/groups/218718305677903
  8. Did anyone waiting for Columbia put down a deposit anywhere else? I am concerned about getting a good field placement if I wait to put a deposit and end up not even getting into Columbia.
  9. I emailed them yesterday about when I would hear back and they told me I should hear back in two - three weeks. I applied on the priority deadline 12/1.
  10. Hey! Is anyone having a tough choice between BU and BC? I got accepted to both and BU is my top choice, but they gave no money besides loans. BC gave me a pretty big scholarship and so that's the only reason I'm really considering them now. Has anyone attended either and have any insights?
  11. I am! Hopefully by the end of next week we'll hear back
  12. Okay I might be wrong but this is what my friend told me. Tuition remission is scholarship money that gets applied to your tuition, not housing or fees. Then Tentative loans are what the school anticipates will be the maximum amount of loan money you will be allowed to take out for the year.
  13. I also only got loans! I'm kind of upset about it because BU was my number one choice but I'm probably going to go to BC because they gave me a lot of scholarship. I've heard BU is known to be skimpy on money. I'm thinking about appealing for more money, but I don't want to commit to BU and then have them deny my appeal.
  14. Hey! I just got an acceptance email from BU, including tentative financial aid. Good luck to everyone who's been waiting!!
  15. I applied as a two year applicant, not advance standing (I assume you're advance standing because I have none of those forms lol).
