Anyone claiming from Albany? Isn't it too early? It's been just two weeks since the deadline
Claiming an Albany admit! I too was shocked at how quick the turnaround was. I was asked to interview just 5 days past the application deadline, and offered admission less than two weeks past the deadline.

What professor did you do research with and what subfield are you in?
I was with Dr. Elizabeth Sanders in the Government department back then, and I'm in the American subfield

I'm super stoked to see so many people applying to Cornell! Wishing all you Cornell applicants good look. Also, as a fellow Vandy applicant lets keep our fingers crossed for getting asked to interview sometime next week!
Fingers crossed!! I did research at Cornell after undergrad and I absolutely loved it there, plus I think I'm a good fit, so I'm really hoping for good news.

Truth be told, I am becoming less optimistic as the days pass by. Both the job market and the graduate school app cycle are a bloodbath this year, so there's no reliable "backup" plan to graduate school if you aren't already employed.
I'm feeling this too! I lost my job in the spring and it's been impossible to find anything new since. I had already started my applications for this admission cycle at that point, so I was planning on applying regardless. However, I won't pretend like I have a solid backup plan should I receive all rejections this cycle- there just aren't many options out there! It's difficult to stay optimistic or calm when there's so much on the line for so many of us. Here's to hoping for the best!

Hey everyone- did anyone else apply to UConn? I haven't heard a thing- from them or on here- and they're the last school I'm realistically waiting on. Has anyone heard anything?
