Yes I emailed them and they said my application was unsuccessful in the first round but that it has been waitlisted.

@clinpsychhopeful2021 You are correct their websites are down, before I could login into their email. Now (past 1 hour) I can't do that either. It is not clear though if acceptances emails have been halted because of this?

I only applied to one school because I'm looking for something pretty specific but I just got back a rejection that said, "We had a particularly strong group of applicants this year and your application, considered as a whole, was not as strong as some of the others we received."

I have 2 dozen posters, a half dozen talks, four co-authored publications, 20 years clinical experience and this was not strong enough.

DO NOT GIVE UP IF THIS IS NOT YOUR YEAR!!!

Accepted to Lakehead, 3rd time applying to clinical programs.
To people that are applying for the first time, second time, third time - Keep persevering. Keep volunteering, gain research experience, put time into good mentoring relationships, build your CV, push for publications, work hard and don't despair. It's important to be honest about the fact that this is not an easy process and if it doesn't work out, your efforts are still great and this may just not be your year. Strength and guidance to everyone accepted and rejected this round.

For people who are assuming rejections this year and will be applying again (and also for people who have applied more than once before). I would like to know how to move forward:
    1. Did you apply to the same PI's again? Do you find new PI's?
    - If so, how do you go about handling the rejection this year. Do I email them asking how to improve my application? Do I tell them I intend on applying again in the fall? Is it weird if I ask to volunteer/ work in their lab over the summer??
    2. What can I do over the next few months to improve my application? I am graduating from undergrad in April. My GPA seems to be alright. I don't have any publications so I suppose thats something to focus on. I am trying to find another research position for work. There's probably a lot more I can do that is not coming to mind right now.
Any help or advice at all would be appreciated!

Bit of a panic. I think I'm just too nervous. I am scared I'm not answering "why I want to be a clinical pysychologist" in the right way..... can someone just let me know how my answer sounds (I can pm it).

^ This is exactly how I feel ... I just want to encourage you, you are not alone and this year has been the hardest/ most competitive for everyone. Hopefully, we still get interviews. I have not heard from any school. Although, I applied to York, OISE, and Guelph only.

I spoke to someone at Queen’s who said that they have their admissions meeting in late January and they said everyone should be notified by mid February if they have an interview or if they have been rejected. They didn’t say anything about when interview invites go out though ? Hope this could be of some help!!
