For those who got into OSU, should we be expecting funding info this week?

Haven't received anything from Northwestern. When did you get the email to check the portal? I wonder if they are going alphabetically.

Did you also decline the offer from Rice?

They told me by Friday. Maybe you should give the Department a call and let us know if that has changed! A nice guy answers lol.

I know and I hate they do that. On Wednesday they said all notifications will be out by Friday. So I hope we hear from them by end of today.

I concur. We all like PoliSci - I mean we either majored in it in undergrad or work in some sort of politics adjacent job, and are applying/ or currently in a polisci PhD program. So that is a given. Yet, we also want after the 5/6 years of living on minimum wage salary and the craziness that is grad school, a job that pays well. Whether that is in academia or industry. This isn't and shouldn't be controversial.

Yep. Tuition coverage is part of your overall funding package IN ADDITION to your TA salary which will most likely be for your living expenses. You don't pay tuition out of your TA salary.

Lol just saw my interview request for UMD! It was in my "promotion" folder and saw it while checking it on my phone. IR subfield! So y'all check your spam/ promotion folders!

Why is that? I am not sure what sub-field the other person is in, but I can confirm the interview requests are real.

I have a friend who received an email from the DGS to set up an interview for next week. Also saw another person claiming an interview request for next week on the result page. So I don't think we will be hearing next and not sure what it means for those who haven't received an interview invite.

When should we expect Maryland to release decisions? Also do they normally conduct interviews? Any one receive an interview request for this cycle?

Congrats! When and how did you find out about Georgia? And what subfield? My portal says "awaiting decision"

I just contacted NW. They said they have to input letters to the system of 500-600 ish applicants for this year. We should have decisions by Friday. Six people have already claimed acceptance on the forums, so honestly, it seems they likely entered acceptance first and for those of us who haven't heard by now, it is more likely a rejection.

Thanks guys, unfortunately, I will assume a rejection from Northwestern then.

Yeah, valid points. Actually Ohio's IR program is a top 10 program, ranked higher (8th) than its AP (14th). Its just difficult going by placements cause it seems over the past three years most school are mostly reporting post-doc placements, so not sure it helps with the decision.
