    Hello everyone - hope everyone’s hanging in there, it’s been a crazy year and admissions cycle. For those of you that received offers, how much of your funding was based on TA-ships? I will be expected to teach every semester for all 5 years and wondering if that’s abnormal/more or less standard.

    oh that’s so odd they never replied to you did you reach out recently? I feel like March is pretty late to get back with any results at all.. but definitely agree the waiting game is making me so anxious! Just want it to be over already ?

    I’m in the same boat! I guess apps were due two weeks after most other programs so maybe it’ll be a bit longer ?

    Hey everyone - couldn’t find anyone who had applied to this program on any other threads. Wondering if there’s anyone out there who applied and is waiting anxiously for results. This is my top program by far and I’m hoping to head back soon... Feel free to reply if you’re also waiting to hear back!

    New to this thread! I got an acceptance to UNC Communication Ph.D program (not hussman) and wondering if anyone else also got accepted here/knows more about the program? Haven’t seen much posted about it on this thread at all so I was curious to know anyone’s thoughts/info they have

    Sounds to me like it is a guaranteed acceptance with details on finding and official letter later. I saw the same thing happen with someone from UNC for their phd program - phone call with news of acceptance than specific funding details later. If so, congrats to you @lingc35!! It’s an amazing program and I’m sure your acceptance is very well deserved.

    I just searched “Berkeley” and it’s one of the most recent posts. Under film studies I believe. Yes I knew this was definitely an incredibly competitive program so I’m not surprised. But sad nonetheless....

    Saw someone post an acceptance for Berkeley’s film studies! Wondering if it was someone on this thread (congrats if it was!!)?. Did not hear back myself and wondering if all acceptances were sent out today.

    Ah I see, I mailed their generic department email rfa@berkeley! Not sure if that was the email you contacted but they were really quick.

    When did you email them? That’s odd they didn’t reply and might mean they just don’t know yet? I emailed the department last night asking about my application (hadn’t checked the portal since submission and showed they never got my gre) and they replied back in minutes saying it’s fine since gre is not required this year.

    So happy this thread exists! I applied to UC Berkeley Film and Media Studies as well as UCSB Film and Media Studies. I saw that several people had heard back from UCSB either admitted/rejected but I haven't heard back at all. I am so curious as to what this could mean and hope to hear back from them soon...
