SSRCH results are out! I won CGS D!!!!! Good luck everyone PS - My last name starts with B so maybe I was one of the first to get the email, which came in at 7:01AM.

Mines just showing ‘CGS Doc’ from last year.. maybe they’re uploading in a particular order

For those who have applied before, do you know if the results will be uploaded on the same SSHRC extranet as last year? When I log in, I see the CGSD file but when I click, there are no zip files. I’m wondering if the letter will be in that same folder or if we will be prompted to make a new extranet account this year. Last year, while we didn’t get the link to make an account until April 30th/May 1, the letters were uploaded on the portal 5 or so days before.

Anyone know if there is a new thread going for this year’s SSHRC doctoral competition?

Just so you know, you can email them and they will provide you with your rank (they did for me). I also followed up to ask about the cut off for the last awarded applicant in my committee for transparency. In my case I was 11 spaces away from being funded but only a .1 point off someone who was offered the award which doesn’t make a lot of sense because it would mean that 11 people had the same score. I’m really not sure why they didn’t post it on the results page this year since they will now have to answer emails from everyone on the waiting list individually. I am not keeping any hope alive about getting off the waitlist any more but I just wanted to echo the other folks who were mentioning how disappointing this whole process has been. I am confused by the lack of transparency for such a prestigious award. Anyway, congrats to everyone who won and good luck to everyone applying again next year

What do you mean by control group? I am also on the waiting list in the same committee and reached out to the email provided for a rank/cut off score. I got a response this morning saying they forwarded my inquiry to a Programme Officer.

Anyone know how the waiting list works? My score was 10.28/12 for committee 3. They dont seem to indicate the last offered award score or the relative rank.

Oh nice! I wonder why the maintenance is tomorrow for me. I don’t see anything saying CGS doc. Maybe you’ll be among the first to get your results

I just checked the SSHRC portal (not sure why since it seems we get a new log-in to check the results) but it looks like there is maintenance scheduled tomorrow between 8am and noon. Maybe results will go out after that?

Is anyone here also waiting to hear back about Vanier (SSHRC)? The website says it will be announced in early April which is just around the corner

Thanks for sharing your stats! I was waitlisted at the exact same time and date as you. Would you be willing to share whether your name is close to the top of the alphabet? I noticed our email came in a few minutes before some others who posted and I am wondering if the waitlist emails were sent alphabetically (my name is near the top of the alphabet) or whether the time stamp might be based on waitlist rank. I'm probably reading too far into it, but you never know lol
