GUYS I GOT INTO IOWA OMFG

I don't know if this means what I think it means, but...
At 6:05pm today, I received an email from Audrey Gibson, the Office Manager of Alaska Fairbanks, congratulating me on being recommended to admission for the MFA Creative Writing Program.  The College of Liberal Arts, the Graduate School, and the Office of Admissions will submit final review and approval shortly.
The document is titled "Accepted MFA Applicants w Waitlisted TAShip.docx" so I harbor some hope that this is a formality and that I have indeed been selected to join the program.  Hopefully I join the TAShips as well, since I'll need the money.  No word on funding or anything of the sort, but figured I'd share in case anyone has ever received an email like this and can illuminate.
I will contact the Director of Creative Writing shortly as well.
For what it's worth, this was the first of the schools I chose and applied to, and the one I held the most desire to join.  If I am selected, then I will have manifested my destiny in a way I haven't witnessed since my parents won the lottery to come to this country so I could have a better life.
Wish me just a tad more fortune, y'all!  And here's to an answer to all this uncertainty for all of us, no matter what!

Yes, I think that's the case! I'm also waiting on UVA. From what I remember, I actually think they have their admitted students wait a week or two before posting about it on socials, so its very possible they will be notifying this week, as most waitlists/rejections I see reported from them are from mid-March last year. 

Hi, I got and email acceptance to the University of Maryland - College Park for fiction Friday afternoon. Haven't heard from VT.

All accepted Michener poets have received their offers, as confirmed on Draft.

I keep saying that all MFA creative writing programs should choose one day to announce all acceptances, waitlists, and rejections, much like NFL draft day. Applicants can make sure to take the day off to receive acceptance calls if they're lucky enough, or if one of the unlucky majority, have the day off to freely wallow over the rejection emails in bed, box of tissues in one hand, and a pint of Ben & Jerry's in the other. This way, applicants don't suffer the slow suffocation that is waiting in limbo from the end of January to mid-March!

From what I recall, Iowa calls folks who have received fellowships/the best funding packages first, then a mix of call/email acceptances go out, and then waitlists are notified via email or post while rejections go out exclusively via post (which can take weeks to receive after the phone calls/emails have gone out).  Also, initial notifications are definitely spaced out instead of all going out in one day. 

Only seeing Fiction so far. Usually they are notified within a week of each other, though I've seen some seasons where Poetry is a smidge later.

I appreciate the support, but it's best not to respond to this person. They are a known troll who makes a string of new accounts every time their current one gets banned, and they've been coming to this site for ages. Around this time (when they start getting rejections) they get extremely bitter, and it's best not to feed that by replying.
 
 

Looks like Michigan is accepting, waitlisting, and rejecting for both genres right now. Honestly, I prefer this chaos spray method of notifying as opposed to the stilted acceptances->waitlists->rejections method most schools seem to abide by. Good luck to everyone who applied!

Welp, official rejection from University of Kansas via a "you have a status update" email. My first real rejection! Sending good vibes to all of us as we wait for the rest

Feels like EVERY school is starting to notify except the ones I applied to! I am going NUTS
