Georgetown (McCourt) MPP 2021
GradProsMPP replied to GradSchoolGrad's topic in Government Affairs Forum
Congratulations to the both of you! How long did it take before you guys heard back from McCourt?/ -
Seconded. Wondering how folks rate the two programs. I am an international applicant looking to stay back in the US for a few years (ideally at a multilateral agency working on the intersection of conflict prevention and development). Funding from both institutions has been similar.

Thanks a bunch for your insights! Was curious to know your take on the MSFS-MPP dual degree v/s SIPA MIA? Assuming after scholarships the costs for the two programs are the same. -
Congratulations! Did you just get notified?
-
Hang in there @TradeRacists4Refugees! I am sure you will end up in a great program and make an impact

Thanks, this makes me feel much, much better. At what point do you think I should reach out to them in case I do not hear from them?
-
Yes. And I've been in touch with Julie on a regular basis too. Side note: Grad admissions emailed me last Thursday asking for proof of degree. Do you think they may be delayed because of that particular requirement?
-
I haven't heard back yet. Is that strange? ?
-
Me neither But gauging by the Stanford MIP and Princeton SPIA thread, a lot of accepted applicants aren't on Gradcafe. @TradeRacists4RefugeesI hope we both make it to MSFS though!

Yes me too!! And the worst part is having to do it again on Monday night (for you and I) in case today is not the day. Cannot deal with this anxiety and stress much longer. They have very concerning physical manifestations ?

Yup, I am waiting on MIA as well. On a slightly more heartening note, I do feel we'll know one way or the other by today or Monday!

They do not usually do it in waves. This is a marked deviation from their previous policy. I guess a possible explanation is that admitted students receive decisions in the first wave followed by the waitlisted and rejects. Another one could be that those who are sure to be admitted receive their admits first. The 'in between' candidates may have to wait slightly longer. This change in policy could be due to higher applications this year along with potential deferrals from the previous academic year.

Had a chat with AD of admissions a few mins back. Her exact phrasing was "You should hear back from us in a week or so." I suppose the waiting game continues!
-
Hang in there @TradeRacists4Refugees
-
Hey @TradeRacists4Refugees I think next week will be the week! Basing it on intel by @AbiRakheja
-
Hey! Nothing yet. Just wondering, what makes you think tomorrow is the day? Per @AbiRakheja 's intel, it will only be in the week of March 15, right?
