  1. Do we think since Sanford got the $10mil funding from the Duke endowment this year that they will be more generous with funding? I love this program but it is pricey hahaha!
  2. Program Applied To (MPA, MPP, IR, etc.): MPP/M.Ed PolicySchools Applied To: Vanderbilt Peabody, HGSE, Sanford, Ford, GW Trachtenberg, UVA BattenSchools Admitted To: Peabody ($$), Batten ($$), and Sanford!!(funding to come this week so the !! may quickly diminish lol)Schools Rejected From: Still Waiting: HGSE, Ford, GWUndergraduate Institution: State flagship Undergraduate GPA: 3.94Undergraduate Major: Political science GRE Quantitative/Verbal/AW Scores: Not submittedYears Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 1Years of Work Experience: 3 -- paid policy work in undergradDescribe Relevant Work Experience: Two terms as Student Body President at large SEC university, policy work with State Council on Postsecondary Education, currently working at my undergrad alma mater as a student life coordinator and contact tracerStrength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): Maybe 8.5/10 I had all of my recommenders read it and they each said it was very strong. A lot about personal ties to impact of education policy and goals of serving rural low-income communities through policy work.Strength of LOR's (be honest, describe the process, etc): A 9/10 Each from a reputable faculty member who know me personally and respect the work I have done. One was from a professor and faculty advisor for a lobbying/advocacy project I did. The second was from another professor who I had twice for policy/civil rights related courses, but he was also heavily involved with uni admin, so we worked closely during my time as SBP. The final letter was from our faculty senate chair, and we had a great working relationship.Other: My main dilemma is choosing between an education-specific MPP at Vanderbilt or a general MPP but with a focus on education policy. All of the MPP programs I have applied to have strong education colleges/research, so I think they would be well equipped to serve my research and curricular interests. I'm sure I want to work in the realm of education policy, but I'm not dead set on a particular path. Ideally I would like to work with a think tank for a while and then take my expertise either to federal or state government work. Consulting is also really intriguing to me but I don't know much about how to navigate that world. This may be a better question for the education forum, but I know ed policy is a popular focus for many MPP students. Also, I was wondering about the waiving of GRE score requirement for all of these programs. I did not take it, and I feel like the rest of my application is pretty strong, but I'm wondering if that will hurt me. I don't have much post-grad work experience in policy, but COVID knocked me out of a policy job I had lined up. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
  3. Thank you! Congrats to you too! They said we would get formal letters with financial aid info this week sometime.
  4. Got my call today — I’m in! Official letters come this week!
  5. Has anyone who was accepted received their email? I got a call yesterday notifying me of my acceptance, but I still haven't received my email with funding info
  6. Anything today?
  7. Following! Do they usually call or is it just an email? I've been refreshing the application page but nothing yet.
  8. Not a peep. I really hope we all hear tomorrow because I really don't wanna wait another week
  9. Nothing today. But I did discover something with the application site inconsistencies. When I view my application from Microsoft Edge (from work) I see Accepted! But when I look on other browsers it shows submitted. So maybe try checking on Edge if you have access.
  10. Vandy (Ed. Policy MPP), UVA Batten, UM Ford, GWU, HGSE (Ed Policy), and Duke
  11. No not sure. Just think its likely based on when they've released decisions in the past
  12. I'm just refreshing the application obsessively lol. It should be today or tomorrow though right??
  13. Ford, Sanford, GWU, and Batten. It looks like they vary from year to year but most have results posts from the first week in March.
  14. So are the floodgates going to open for results tomorrow for anyone else? Based on prior years, like four of the schools I applied to should be releasing results tomorrow/Friday. Pls pray lol
  15. Yeah I just posted. No phone call but I saw the same post on the results page, so I've just been checking the portal obsessively since then.
  16. My portal says I've been accepted! I hope its not an error. When should we hear about scholarships/financial aid?
  17. I applied but I haven't heard anything. I've seen a couple posts that they started making calls yesterday and official letters go out Friday 3/5. Have you heard from them?
  18. I've answered three spam calls today hoping it was them. Also had heart attacks lol
  19. Anyone hear anything from Sanford yet? I saw that they made calls the last Thursday and Friday of February last year so I thought some of you may have received your calls today. Nothing for me yet though!
  20. Has anyone heard anything yet? I got an email today saying to mark the date for the admitted students weekend but I haven't received an acceptance letter or anything. Did this go to everyone?
