Hey all, I got an offer from GSU which I'm super excited about! I was able to connect with current grad students over zoom tomorrow, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good questions that I could ask them to kinda be prepared for the program. I would be moving states so I'm going to ask about living and Atlanta itself, but any other advice?

Has anyone heard from CU at all?? I was told interview requests would be sent "this month" and yet I've got a feeling that they're really delayed...

They did not, as far as I know.

I haven't gotten news yet! I was told their deadline for it is the 22nd, and they'd notify at the end of the month. My going there is definitely contingent on aid, and (maybe in too brash of a move ?), I told them so. I estimated it's about 75k a year including housing and other expenses and I'm not willing to go into crazy debt when I was really hoping for a fully funded program anyways!

I've only been recommended by SVA to apply to their assistantship and Alice Beck scholarship! Totally disheartening to feel like that's the only financial aid that's forthcoming.

GSU contacted me and definitively let me know I was waitlisted, so I would reach out to Jeremy or whoever you spoke to and ask for an update!

Apologies, I worded it badly! I didn't get a first offer, so I'm assuming waitlist for now. The head of photo did send an email before interviews that talked about their funding and how students could be moved from waitlist to acceptance through the summer. Fingers crossed for both of us (and everyone else also waiting) !!

Can't speak for top programs but I'm waitlisted for GSU and tbh trying not to hold my breath. It's a program I'd really love but they're only accepting two students in my area. They have said they're trying to get more funding and they can move people off the wait-list as late as summer, which is mind boggling to me!

Wow that's shocking, when did you hear only 1 student? When I spoke with grad students there in a zoom Q&A, I was told 3-4 but it could have changed. I absolutely agree that schools needed to be more transparent; the vibe I continued to get from multiple schools was "we're not expecting many applications." It wasn't until after my applications were done were I noticing that it's likely way more than usual AND they're accepting less. I also lost my job and have been on unemployment so I feel you! It's been absolutely rough and I've been working without studio access or other creative minds around me And yes! Does anyone else find themselves not making art while we wait for decisions? It feels like all I do is work and stress about not hearing anything lol. Going forward, what are yalls plan b's looking like if you don't start Fall '21? I'm starting to look at residencies and post bacc programs just in case.

Thanks for adding on! I pretty much got the same message verbatim. Pretty dejected since it was my number one choice and other schools have been silent aside from SVA and GSU. I also am not fond of how the application has been at Austin (three different submission pages?!) And then this, leaves somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth, regardless of how much I admire the program.

So.... I'm weirded out and upset, I got a portal update from UT Austin that said "Because your application file was not complete by the departmental deadline, the Committee on Graduate Studies in your program has canceled your application." Obviously a rejection, but I'm wildly confused because my application was submitted on time? Anyone else get something like this? I'm thinking of reaching out to both the overall graduate studies department as well as the MFA program's .

So you won't be able to see that it's a certain institution, but Squarespace will let you know what city it is! I just know its Boulder bc the hits came from Denver, CO When you click on your website from the account dashboard, on the left hand menu (where it says pages, design, commerce etc) will be Analytics and click that, and it'll bring up your hits but under that Analytics overview will be Geography! Hope that helps!
