  1. Trying to cope with rejections using memes (this one's specifically for all my young queer artists out there who live in abusive housrholds and were hoping for grad school to be a smooth & unsuspecting springboard into getting away from their family since moving out might not be an option) ≤3
  2. If you defer, would the funding still be the same next year?
  3. I actually did my undergrad at UCI and I loved it! Can't speak on the art dept because I had a non-art degree (trying to pivot now) but I'm sure it's a fantastic program. Let me know if you have any general questions about the school/campus/area/anything!
  4. I heard UCI is fully funded (for domestic applicants at least). Congratulations!
  5. Anyone know how generous UNT is generally?
  6. Does anyone know if being waitlisted (and then accepted) affects your chances of getting good funding? Basically, I'm wondering if schools think they can give less funding to applicants who were waitlisted since they weren't like their 'first choice' for the program. Or is there no disadvantage at all in being waitlisted when it comes to funding? Would really appreciate some insight on this. Thanks!
  7. Has anyone here ever been waitlisted without an interview, then got off the waitlist? If so did they still interview you before giving you the acceptance? Thanks!
  8. Is it difficult to get out of the waitlist at Bard?
  9. Yeah this is basically what I was asking. Do people do this or do they just wait up to the deadline and not do anything with their offer?
  10. Hi everyone! I have a couple of questions when it comes to waitlisting. Would really appreciate any answers as I am completely new to this whole process and this is my very first time applying Thank you!!!!! ❤️ Is there anything applicants do to increase their chances of getting off the waitlist? Or do you just pretty much wait and hope for the best? I'm assuming it's the latter because the outcome is based on something out of your control, which is whether or not the people who received offers choose to accept their spot in the program. If you were waitlisted without getting interviewed, and you eventually got out of the waitlist, do they still need to interview you before giving you the acceptance? Would really appreciate any anecdotes here of people who went through the same thing! Since April 15 is the deadline that most schools adhere to when it comes to locking in offers, does that mean people who are waitlisted probably won't hear back until after April 15? And then I have a REALLY basic question that anyone who has ever been accepted to an MFA program can answer. It's like a sub-question of #3 becuse it's about the same thing. In acceptance offers, is there an option where you can like... turn it down? Or is the way of rejecting offers simply to not do anything up to the deadline? If you have any insight about any of these topics (doesn't have to be all of them), please let me know! Thanks everyone!
  11. Finally got my rejection from CMU ? It's tough out there
  12. Anyone receive any rejections yet from Columbia/Georgia State for painting?
  13. Congratulations!!! Did you receive an aid package with your offer? I've always wondered about how good the funding is at CalArts.
