  1. hi everyone, hope you're all doing well!!! i recently declined my offer to uoft's mph in epidemiology program (initially accepted in march); just wanted to let anyone waiting to hear back from them know as i really hope this will create some waitlist movement in the near future!! ❤️
  2. hey!! i received a confirmation from the graduate assistant a couple hours after emailing my confirmation form!! (i applied to epi though and i see that you mentioned you applied to health promo so i'm not sure if it would be different for you) maybe if you're close to the acceptance date and haven't heard anything at all from them, email one more time just in case for confirmation, but i wouldn't worry otherwise!!
  3. hey!! i personally graduated after about 5 years (took an extra year since i switched programs in the middle of my undergrad degree) and i don’t believe it caused any problems for me application-wise!! as other comments have said though, it’s possible they might not count your extra year if it’s completed after you graduate, so i’d recommend you double-check with the schools you’re planning on applying to (if you take the extra year only after graduation) just in case!!
  4. oh no i'm so sorry ? i'm really rooting for you!!! crossing my fingers super duper hard that you'll get into one of the programs you applied for ❤️
  5. also just heard that i'm on the western waitlist as well!!
  6. thank you so much!!! ❤️
  7. omg just got an offer for uoft epi!!! ahhhhhh so happy :')
  8. hey!! for stats do you just mean grades? my overall average is around an 88 i think and the average of my last 1/2 years is around a 94 (something like that -- the numbers might be a little off though since i haven't recalculated it recently haha) feel free to lmk if you'd like any more info!!
  9. also just got an acceptance from queens!! congrats to everyone else who received one!!
  10. hey!! ? for my stats, i'm not sure if mcgill looks at cgpa or your last few years like some schools do, but my overall average is around an 88 i think and the average of my last 1/2 years is around a 94?? not completely certain about those numbers but it's somewhere around there for experiences i'm not sure but i guess they would be average-ish?? i had a couple research assistant positions (mostly psych-related since my undergrad degree was in psych although one position was in a more medical-related field) with one NSERC USRA, and an honours thesis, but no pubs at all!! plus i also was a TA one semester. besides that i think i have a variety of ECs and volunteering roles but most of them aren't really too relevant to public health i would think, it's mainly just a bunch of stuff i participated in out of personal interest so i'm not sure if they had any impact on my app -- but if you're interested in any specifics at all feel free to let me know!! ☺️
  11. the deadline to accept McGill (for my offer, at least) is March 31, although i would assume that they might have later deadlines if offers come out in the next little while since i received mine more than a week ago!! and i think someone here posted an email reply they received where uoft said epi offers would come out in early to mid-april or something? i'm not super sure though tbh, and i'm also nervously waiting to hear back from them ?
  12. i believe uoft has started sending out acceptances for some programs but not all yet (for example, i don't believe any epi acceptances have gone out). i don't have any idea about biostats though unfortunately, and i don't believe i've seen anyone post about it on here!! if you email the program they might be able to give you a rough idea about when acceptances will go out best of luck, i hope you receive good news from them!!
  13. same here, just got rejected from mac too!!
  14. i’m really sorry to hear about the rejections everyone ? i’m sure you’re all wonderful and worthy applicants and i really believe that whatever school you receive admission to and accept (either in this cycle or possibly in the future) will be an amazing fit for you and help you to do amazing things in the sphere of public health ❤️
  15. just got an email about being recommended to McGill's MScPH!! haven't heard back from any other schools yet wishing everyone here all the best with applications!! ?
