As MedMPH said, Athabasca University's statistics course is accepted by most universities in Canada and is a legitimate online course. You can find the syllabus here: https://www.athabascau.ca/syllabi/math/math215.php

At U of T for instance, MATH215 transfers to be equivalent to STA220, the standard undergraduate introductory statistics course taken by most life sciences students.

    Wonderful... Thanks a lot!!

  4. For international students, what kinda stat course do they expect from us? I believe many universities don't accept Coursera certificates.. Can someone suggest any good statistics beginner courses that can get us entry ticket into Canadian universities for international students? Please?

Hi, I've received the acceptance from U of T Epi around 1:00 pm yesterday. Good luck to everyone who has not heard from the school. I have until April 9 to send in my confirmation form.

Congratulations! Are u domestic or international student?

Domestic student finishing my final year at the University of Toronto!

My undergraduate GPA at the time of application to U of A was 3.88 (3.97 with the removal of one course where I received a C due to an emergency before the final).

Research: Not much – research assistant for 3 years, but in 2 education labs not related to my degree. I was a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholar for 3 months in Kenya a few years ago. I decided not to pursue a thesis, and don't have any publications.

Other experience: I head a campus club focused on global health and economic development, have been tutoring inner-city children for 7 years, volunteer as a mental health crisis responder, and contributed to writing a competency-based Physiology course.

References: PI of the two education labs, who both know me well.

As you can see, most of my experiences involve children and education! I think my LOI was probably the strong point.

I was actually in "Under Review/Decision: Pending" for a long time, and I submitted my application the day it was due.

Wow.. That's better research experience than u think.. U deserved it.. Congratulations!!!

I applied to McGill's MscPH(non-thesis), UBC's OEH, Western's MPH, and Toronto's MPP. I did my undergrad at the University of Waterloo, CGPA3.9, last two years GPA 4.0. I only have four months working experience in a  health corporation, but I think my manager's recommendation letter helped a lot.

That's amazing! I have a doubt though.. Ain't UofWaterloo in Canada? How come u are an international applicant?

Wow, probably you're the first international applicant (in this forum) to get a response so far.. Would u mind sharing the details, which course and ur stats?

  10. Somehow we crossed this week quick, yet another long weekend..

Congratulations for all those who got accepted and best of luck for all those still waiting for miracle to happen!

We crossed 20 days into the month..  Just few more days, let's keep going!
