  1. So from what ive heard about 2 year programs, UofT tends to be one of the most clinical focused, whereas somewhere like York has a reputation for being a lot more theory focused. Other programs tend to fall somewhere in between. No matter where you end up though, you can always pursue further courses/training specific to counselling afterwards
  2. First of all, congrats! Just curious - does your admission letter say how many people applied vs how many spots there were this year?
  3. Ayyy congrats to those who have heard so far! Of course this happens on the one day where im running around to appointments and not just sitting at my computer constantly refreshing ? Probably for the best
  4. Yes, because they say all decisions will be out mid April every year, and usually first decisions come out mid-late March. This seems to be the latest they've ever sent out the first decisions by about a week. I think it is very reasonable that people are wondering about this.
  5. Thanks so much for this! All of the digging in past forums I've done and I didn't realize the 2y deadline was earlier this year, that's great news.
  6. Yeah, I'm seconding this - I really don't expect them to go out before the end of the month. 1y decisions this year were much later than usual, and the email that the person shared honestly made it seem like it could even be into May this year.
  7. Like you said, who knows! But they do seem to start earlier in the week - I think it's usually been Sun/Mon/Tues/Wed. Wouldn't be surprised if they keep people waiting though
  8. Omg I love this for you! It's cold brew seasonnnnnn I'm a former barista and my vote is totally for vanilla sweet cream cold brew LOL
  9. Gooooood morning folks, I'm feeling hopeful that today's the day!
  10. I know this is the MSW thread, but did anyone apply to BSW programs? Which ones? I'm waiting on Carleton & McMaster. I figure it's relevant since it's likely a backup plan for lots of other folks
  11. Yeah at this point I'm almost fine with a rejection, i would just reallyyyy like to move on (to checking Laurier constantly lol)
  12. So, based on when people first posted in the forum in the last 3 years + this year's 1y (so only 7 data points), you're totally right about acorn. Earliest it came out was 9am, latest was 9pm, and all the others seemed pretty randomly in between. I'll probably go look into Laurier now ? Edit: Hard to find it in the 2018 forum, but for 2019/20/21 it seems like they were all late afternoon (3-4pm) except for 2019 1y decisions which seems to have come out at around 10am. But again, these are just the first forum posts, and it seems like Laurier really drags their decisions out over the course of days.
  13. Thanks for this! I also just figured out how to see what time things were posted. Looks like last year was around 9pm on a Sunday. Why're they like thissssss
  14. Do we have any idea what time of day acorn tends to change?
  15. Looks like they've already updated their site for next year, but they do say May for 2022 Fall online decisions, so you're probably right about it being May this year as well! https://www.wlu.ca/programs/social-work/graduate/social-work-msw/application-checklist/index.html
  16. I think it's possible - UofT's open so I don't see why not
  17. Same here! I hope you all had a restful weekend. I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow in the hopes that they were mostly done and just didn't want the decisions to be spread out with some before and some after the long weekend
  18. Are people laying pretty low this weekend? I know acorn's changed on a weekend before, but I would be surprised if they did it on a holiday/long weekend, right?
  19. Hey, I'm doing a similar sort of thing! My only course this semester is independent research (which is the worst for having lots of unstructured time to check this forum). But I agree, I'd rather hope for later and then have it be a nice surprise when decisions do come out!
  20. Typically Laurier sends out 2y decisions late March/early April, in the last 3 years, the first people have heard back on Apr. 3rd, Mar. 31st, and April 9th, respectively. I'm expecting them to be much later this year though, because they were way behind on 1y decisions (usually come out late feb/very early march, and this year only came out 1-2weeks ago).
  21. One person heard back last week that they weren't admitted, doesn't seem like anyone else has heard.
  22. Yup, it was only 2 days later, but if it's because of an increased number of applicants, or just administrative slow-down due to covid, my guess is that this would be compounded for the 2 year, since they get many more applicants in general
  23. Seems like about 4 weeks from getting the official acceptance letter (through SGS I guess)
  24. Lol well I'd still be checking through the whole long weekend anyways ? I do still have high hopes for the end of this week though. 1y decisions only came out a couple of days later than usual.
  25. So, in the past few years, Laurier 2y in-person admissions did come out between Mar. 31st-Apr. 9th. I'm expecting it to truly be more like mid April this year, because the 1y admissions only just came out in the last week or so, and usually they come out in late Feb. or very early March.
