  1. Just got waitlisted at Columbia for the Writing MFA in Poetry. Feeling very surreal and not sure whether I'm happy or devastated lol. So uh I guess if anyone else who got accepted doesn't plan to go, feel free to send those denials in and help me end my misery sooner rather than later ;0;
  2. I'm also still waiting for any info back from Columbia :, ) Not sure about NYU, though if you dig back a few pages on this topic there's been a few folks discussing it. I know that this week is when most of Columbia's decisions have gone out in past years, but I suppose there's a fair chance that COVID has thrown at least one or two wrenches in their schedule, so I'm trying to keep that in mind while I anxiously check my phone and email every hour attempting to will some results into existence LOL. I'm here with ya! Solidarity in stress ?
  3. Hopefully all the inevitable stress in my post won't be too contagious.. but is anyone else absolutely frazzled waiting for responses from Columbia? I've seen a few people post their acceptances on the results feed here for MFAs in Writing at Columbia and nearly all of them note that they received calls to inform them of their admission. However, on the CSA admissions policies webpage it says that admissions decisions won't be delivered over the phone- I'm honestly just wondering what to think about all this? I guess I'm hoping for solidarity more than answers, because I'm definitely grasping at straws as I anxiously wait for ANY information. I'm getting to the point where I'm about ready to start sacrificing all my Columbia U Press books at the stake as an offering to the admissions gods....
  4. From hearing other people’s experiences both on and off this forum, it’s not uncommon to get admitted off the waitlist! I’d imagine it’s even more likely for programs like those at Bard that are uniquely structured— I’m sure a lot of admitted folks might opt to attend a different school they’re accepted to based solely on the structure of Bard’s grad curriculum.
  5. I feel your pain!! I'm in a similar boat waiting to hear back from two schools' MFA in Writing decisions with hopes that I haven't already been rejected LOL. I've been hoping the fact that one of my recommenders and undergrad professors/mentors is an adjunct professor at Columbia as well as a Bard alum would make my application stand out, despite feeling guilty and hoping that my portfolio materials stand out on their own merit.. Time to try and distract myself from the soup of anxiety caused by waiting around for decisions to come out from the specific program departments I applied to.... rip
  6. If I have to keep opening up application portals only to see the same "submitted" status with no changes, I'm going to start seeing spots I s2g...

  7. Got accepted to CCA's MFA in Writing program for Fall 2021! But I'm now chomping at the bit awaiting decisions from Bard and Columbia. Applied to both schools' MFA in Writing programs with a concentration in poetry. I haven't heard anything to date and the application portal doesn't seem to have any info as of yet... I saw on Bard's website that interviews were conducted March 6th and decision info comes out starting today, but I haven't been contacted at all. I know some folks who applied to the visual arts MFA programs were called for interviews last week and are now starting to receive admissions decisions... Does anyone have any ideas if not being called for an interview means outright rejection (for Bard, that is- Columbia seems to be even more vague about decision dates...) ? I've got a massive pit in my stomach thinking that I've already been rejected.
  8. I'm assuming no interview means I should be expecting a rejection letter.. I've been accepted to a different MFA program and offered some great scholarship funding, but I really would like to hear back from Bard and Columbia before making any decisions. I don't know how hopeful I should be right about now, lmao....
  9. Literally creating an account on here just to join the freakout awaiting decisions from Bard and Columbia. Applied to both schools' MFA in Writing programs with a concentration in poetry.
