  1. yes, I was offered 50% funding. have since turned down that offer at Michigan for UCLA
  2. Finally bit the bullet and committed to UCLA last night (media archival studies track)! I had been waiting on Michigan funding info for weeks, but that program is so disorganized I had a feeling it wasn't coming before April 15, and even if I did get some funding, it probably wouldn't even match what my costs at UCLA would be since the sticker price alone at Michigan is nearly double that of UCLA. Crazy application cycle for sure!
  3. Just declined my acceptance here (partially because of how disorganized everything is, and that makes me nervous for the actual program). Hopefully one of you still waiting on a decision can snag my spot, best of luck to you all!
  4. Has anyone gotten word on funding yet? I'm ready to commit to another program (UCLA), but I'm waiting to see if Michigan will fund me enough to bring down my costs. Would love to pass over my acceptance to anyone waitlisted sooner rather than later, but I've been waiting 2 weeks now with not a single word from Michigan.
  5. Wish I had an answer for you, but I'm also in the same situation. I'm also waiting on Michigan funding information. April 15th feels so close and I would really like to commit to a program already. Did you get contacted last Friday to send in additional forms (2019 tax return and a Michigan-created information form)? I'm wondering if they asked for that from everyone or if only people they're considering were asked to send that stuff in.
  6. Hello all! Got accepted on Thursday and am super excited! Does anyone have any idea when funding information will be released? I got an email on Friday morning asking for some additional aid-related paperwork so I'm hoping that's a good sign? I won't be able to attend without funding and would like to hear sooner rather than later, since April 15th is coming up quickly.
  7. Anyone accepted into UCLA know about funding opportunities? It's my absolute dream to attend but don't think I'll be able to without a GAship/funding of some kind.
  8. very embarrassed didn't realize there's already a thread for this, haha. please ignore.
  9. Hey all! Finally got my last decision today I got accepted into URI, Indiana (Bloomington), Maryland, UIUC, UCLA, and Michigan! My top three schools are UIUC, UCLA, and Michigan, but I'm having a hard time making a decision. Living in LA scares the hell out of me as someone from a smaller place, but as someone who dreams of going into film archival work, their internship options, placement, and coursework opportunities are unmatched. I know I can't go wrong at UIUC, but as a queer person who may also begin some gender transition stuff in the next year, they don't seem to have as many resources as Michigan or UCLA. I'm totally in love with Michigan, and it's the top archives program, but it's significantly more expensive. I'm waiting to hear back on funding though, because they do tend to offer generous aid packages. I also really love the amount of resources and support available for LGBTQ people there. Anyone have any advice?
  10. Do you think I should be concerned if I still haven't heard back from UCLA yet? I don't want to seem needy and reach out to them for an update but I can see that more people on the results page are getting decisions while my portal status still only says submitted. Congratulations BTW, maybe we'll be classmates!!
