Very possible.. There is a phd one that I declined and I was told it will be given to a reserve candidate.. So be hopefully.. We have people declining out there

That's a good option.. At least you can plan your schedule especially if you are working

Sometimes I fail to understand how our government offices work.. The option worked but they can't do their part before the government commits

Apparently, there is a contract they are to sign between daad and Kenyan government.. So it's like the government is delaying the process..

@Dimbahave you started the language course? I haven't received my award letter so I am a bit worried..

It's not over.. Since you have a good proposal you can try other avenues.. Again, you are on reserve list so you may be lucky if someone turns down the offer

My status changed last week on Friday, from paper copies received to selection made.. Then on Monday I received a message from Bonn that the responsible selection committee had considered my application for scholarship but they are trying to put in place some things before they send me the final decision and further steps.. So my status is still selection made.. Waiting for more information from them..

Don't loose hope since you are on reserve list.. Someone may turn down the offer then you be given

The status shouldn't worry you.. It's supposed to be: application submitted - paper copies received - pre-selection made - selection made - funding / rejected... But not all offices follow this process... For some it moves from application submitted to selection made then funding or rejected.. Like in my case it's still at "paper copies received" yet I was preselected for interview... It has never changed to pre-selection made

Relax... Don't give up.. There is still time... Language course begins in June.. So releasing results end of April is still OK..

Sorry to those who got rejection. It's not the end... You can give it a try next time... Congrats to those who got the scholarship... As for me, I am still anxiously waiting
