    Yup looks like those who asked today were rejected. They said they had our results but they weren't released, so not sure what they're waiting for.

    If anyone is going crazy waiting for UofT, a few people (myself included) emailed the program coordinator (you can find her information on the OISE website) directly, and we all received an application update today via email. Wishing you all the best!

    So is OISE going to wait until end of April-May to give everyone results like last year and the year prior? At this point I'm assuming a rejection but I don't understand the process of sending a few acceptances last week and then radio silence. I'd just like an answer so I can move on with planning my life hahaha 🥲

    Just wanted to share that I rejected my offer to Carleton's 2-year MSW about a week ago, so hopefully that gives a spot to someone on the waitlist!

    Has anyone heard from UofT about when we can expect to hear back? Last year was mid April but looks like the year before was early March...

    I would recommend accepting UOttawa by the deadline, and if you get into UofT, rescind your acceptance to UOttawa. Schools are aware that they provide us all with very different deadlines and most of us are waiting for responses from multiple schools, which is why they keep a waitlist (Ottawa accepted people off the waitlist up until end of April last year). I was in this situation this year and I just rescinded my acceptance to another school because I was accepted elsewhere. The only problem is that you will lose your deposit - but IMO that is very much worth it to secure your spot. You don't want to be left with no options after all your hard work!

    It really depends on your spot on the waitlist. I was waitlisted last year and was not admitted. However my friend was accepted off the waitlist later on. Feel free to PM me if you'd like more info

    What were their stats like? Curious what Ottawa is looking for as many qualified applicants were rejected this year.

    Thanks so much! My status in Carleton360 switched to 'Decision Made' and in Carleton Central my status is 'Application Approved' along with the admission letter.

    It's totally valid that you're discouraged, this whole process can be incredibly daunting, especially more than once. Just remember that your ability and worth isn't determined by grad programs. Wishing you the best of luck!

    Agreed with this. From what I've heard, it sounds like real helping experience is crucial (even more so than grades) to be successfully admitted. Not only listing out experience on your resume, but going into depth in your personal statement about how you have been shaped by these experiences and what they have taught you. This is my second year applying and I can admit that last year, I made the mistake of failing to properly reflect on my professional experiences, relating them directly to the program, and to the field as a whole. After making these changes I'm happy to say I've been admitted to one program so far, and interviewed for a program I was waitlisted for last year. It takes time, and effort, and lots of confidence in yourself. You got this, @Counsellinggirl

    To those applying to UOttawa for the Counselling (MEd) program... wondering if you will be talking about research in your letter of intent? I know some of the prompts centre a lot around research but I know for the MEd program specifically we won't be doing research.

    I applied last year and I would say the most competitive programs that I applied to were OISE and McMaster!

    Formal rejection from Mcmaster sent via email a few minutes ago after being waitlisted back in Feb with no interview… it’s tough out here
