  1. Hey sorry to hear about your rejection. As a multi-time u of T applicant (who finally got in lol), I think your plan is super solid. Take the year to boost up your experience/credentials and then apply to a variety of schools that resonate with you. Looking back I probably should have applied to multiple MSWs but I had tunnel vision for U of T lol. C'est la vie. The application process can be really draining. Please also take care of yourself and don't let these institutions determine your worth. Take all the time you need to grieve/mourn.
  2. Thank you so much! Here I was looking everywhere on acorn. Are you in the two year as well?
  3. UofT MSW accepted folk. How do you see the stream you got into? 😎
  4. Got the official letter for U of T acceptance. I was in a state of disbelief until I got it lol.
  5. Hey there, When you login to ACORN, it's one of the first things that you see. I guess that's the dashboard/homepage and there you should see "invited" under academics and a $500 deposit under finances.
  6. After multiple tries, I logged into ACORN yesterday and saw the coveted "invited". No official letter or SGS portal update. I'm still in a state of disbelief but I will be accepting! Hope that opens up a spot or two at the numerous BSW programs I applied to as a backup plan. For folks that are still in the waiting game for any program (not just U of T), I am rooting for you.
  7. Everyone waitlisted at U of T. Mourn it. It's not an admission. That sucks. Give yourself time to process and grieve. Don't let them make you see yourself as a lesser person because of this. Once you feel ready, get your backup plans started. U of T's unranked waitlist is garbage so you could be waiting forever. Just being honest, having been there twice. U of T is one of the best MSW schools so people pulling out is unlikely. Take the steps to strengthen your next application whether it be a new SW-type job, volunteering, or another program. Hell think of the next points you'll write about on your letter of intent. I've been there before. Don't wait for U Of T. Good luck.
  8. Hang in there. Give it a couple days as things pick up. They usually come and go in waves. Try to get off of this forum if you can, it can eat you up.
  9. The flood gates for admissions, rejections, and waitlists will start to open up next week. I feel it.
  10. I'm in the same boat. Just to add on some more dates. 2021 - Waitlisted on April 9th 2022 - Waitlisted on March 30th 2023 - ???
  11. Update on my psyche: I had a vivid dream I logged into ACORN and saw the $500 deposit and an acceptance letter lol.
  12. Not healthy but join the club 😎. Hope you hear something back soon.
  13. Yeah I'm going to assume it's an "all decisions will be sent out by mid-April" type of thing just for my own sanity.
  14. I hear you. Third timer here. I'm surprised my refresh button is still working with how many times I'm checking my email. I am sending you the best of luck and hope an acceptance is coming your way.
  15. Speaking for U of T. The usual trend is the advanced standing usually hears back a lot earlier than the two year. From my experience on this forum, the early weeks of March are mostly advanced standing acceptances. While the third and fourth week are for two years. Everything is usually sent out by the first week of April. Hope it helps. I know how much it sucks to wait.
  16. On my phone right now so this is probably a jumbled mess. This time around my application looked like this: GPA 3.7 for my undergrad. I don't know my stats course grade of the top of my head but I know it was at least an A Experience and hours: 1200 hour internship in a LTC home 100 at my local foodbank 100 with Kids Help Phone 2000 - 3000 hours in an unrelated field but working with kids and kids with special needs I started writing my letter of intent the day after I got waitlisted last year in April so I had 4-5 months to really flesh out my experiences. I sent it to people in the field for editing, mainly supervisors and my clinical psych family member, so uh fingers crossed. I already have a back up plan in place so it's not the end of the world if I don't get into U of T but it's really the only MSW program I want and has been my goal for a while now. Good luck.
  17. Congratulations and thanks for posting. A sign that news is on the way.
  18. The forum usually picks up end of February through April as more people get their results
  19. Just from my previous applications. For the two year program, I know they've sent out admissions in waves from end of Feb through March and then wait lists at the start of April. Fingers crossed sooner rather than later.
  20. Rooting for you Chris. I don't know what kind of social service super stars they're accepting if you don't get in.
