I was wondering if I could get some assistance on how I should be addressing my email to a program that I had already put a deposit down due to their early commitment deadline, but have since received acceptance to a program I plan to attend. Is there anyone who had to do this? Would appreciate help regarding what I should be saying in the email to the admissions office! Thank you!

Hi! I put down my deposit for USC! I'm still waiting to hear back from Columbia though, but if I find out I've been rejected then I will for sure be attending USC come the fall. Have you committed to their program? I feel like I haven't seen many USC applicants this year, in comparison to other years on this forum.

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm on edge too!! Just to clarify, did you receive another automated email saying another 2 weeks or was that their reply to your email? Just curious as I might have missed something as I didn't receive an automated email if that's the case lol.

Another 2 weeks??? May I ask when did you apply? I applied on the Feb 15th deadline, and communicated with admissions about 3 weeks ago and they said I should find out around this time....why are they the only school to be taking so long?

Last time I communicated with the school, which was early last week, I was still told that decisions for regular deadline applicants would be around mid-April ?

For those that have been accepted to Columbia, I was hoping some of you could reply to this post and share why you are drawn to their program? Out of all the forums I've been on and people I've talked to, including my own research, Columbia always comes up as the most exciting for people to hear back from (at least from what I've seen..). Is it the excitement of being in New York? The program itself? The name of Columbia? I have heard so many mixed reviews about the school, particularly in regards to their teaching approach their mistreatment of some professors and students, so I'm still wondering why many new students are eager to go through their program. Of course you can always direct message me if you don't want to share your reasons on a public post!

I still haven't received a follow-up email for interviews. I tried to schedule mine as soon as I was sent the email but literally all the spots were taken, but my application status still says "pending interview" so not sure what's happening here.

I'm from Las Vegas! So I understand wanting a change haha. There's pros/cons of everything. I feel like I know more about Penn's program than I do about USC's oddly, would you mind sharing anything you know about USC's from what you've heard? I haven't seen much from other accepted students leaning towards USC, so anything would greatly help me understand the culture and experience of the program. I would be entering as a full-time 2 year student.

Hi there, I am stuck and need help from anyone who could give advice if they've gone through these respective programs. I have been accepted to both USC and Penn's social work programs. Both deadlines are coming up very soon, but am still waiting to hear back from Columbia. I'm leaning more on the end of clinical social work, but may very well switch to macro once I get situated in a program. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Best of luck to you all!! (: -Amanda
