  1. It's such a frustrating process, I'm sorry if it's been stressful! These schools are crazy.
  2. I picked full time two-year but I might need to talk to them about that. IDK if I can take that much time away from working after all. I think I was a bit too optimistic when I initially applied.
  3. Congrats to everyone who got in! I haven't heard back yet which I'm guessing is a no, but that's OK!
  4. Do you see your career growing in Austin or in PA? UT is pretty well known for their career center, so I'm guessing it would be a better option for your long-term prospects. But also I've heard there are a lot of social workers in Austin. IDK! Good luck!
  5. Waiting and checking here every day lmao. I only applied to 2 schools--UT and Texas State. I'm on the fence about whether I want to go at all now (not because of the waiting but other stuff). Luckily TXST doesn't require a response until 5/15.
  6. Came back to check for updates. This thread is moving as slow as UT's admission process. I hope they're not twiddling their thumbs trying to figure out how to get the perfect cohort because I'm sure people have already committed to other schools at this point.
  7. I emailed and asked and they told me all applicants should have a decision by the end of April. It's crazy you applied in November and haven't heard back! UT's admissions process is bizarre and I don't know how they end up with a good cohort by making people wait this long. I imagine a lot of people won't be able to accept just because they've accepted other offers.
  8. I've gotten no update on mine, just that it's been forwarded. Honestly, I feel like with how long UT is taking and how little they communicate, they really seem to rest on their laurels of being a top 10 school. Their lack of communication and the disregard to other schools' deadlines seems pretentious to me. I checked out some of the other forums and most of the Ivys have already alerted students to their status. I don't know how long they expect people to wait or why they think their program is so much better than Columbia, UPenn or Smith, which have all updated students by now. Not to mention TX State and UofH have also made offers. Shrug!
  9. Wow UoH doesn't give you much time to decide! Texas State gave until May 15th. I googled your question and you CAN decide not to go after committing but it is frowned upon: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-ok-to-accept-admission-at-one-grad-school-and-then-decide-to-go-to-another I did not get a financial offer with the acceptance letter for TX State. I had UofH on my list to apply to and even got recs for them, but I had a real life "the dog ate my homework" and missed the deadline. I was kinda bummed but really liked TX State and hope to get into UT as well.
  10. I'm not too worried! I'm sure every school was slowed down due to COVID. I also applied by the Jan 15th deadline and my application has been forwarded for review. I got accepted to Texas State, which I really enjoyed interviewing with. But obviously, UT is very prestigious so I'm hoping for there!
  11. Hi there! I've been lurking on this thread waiting for people to update as I've applied to UT's MSSW program as well! Your updates have been really helpful and I made an account just to say congratulations on getting in! I'm still waiting to hear back, but I applied on a whim and have had some circumstances change so I'm not sure I'll go now even if I do get in, but I'm very glad for you!!!
